Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
I'm home! Be over to fetch my dog in a sec here...
Glad to hear you're safe. We had an icy mess up here Sunday night and Monday morning. It's supposed to snow tomorrow. We'll see. You can't trust the weatherman.
*shudder*
That's what gets me about ice. In snow, you can usually do OK so long as you take it slow. On pure ice...if you don't have studs or chains, you're pretty much out of luck if you start to slide on a hill. Especially going downhill.
Tivo?
24 hours ago it was almost 70 degrees.
I don't think this feller is gonna be too happy with the change.
'nite folks
Yeah, it's getting a mite nippy out there!
Well...that was almost entirely a train wreck.
Which is, I suppose, half the fun. But...ouch.
That's the idea. It's a good hurt. :P
Seattle is tonite!!
It's about -5 here. Your daffodil would be in a case of ice.
Thanks for the update...let me know when you hear something from them.
Good morning... Hope the g'nad's get power back today and can check in, this adventure is probably losing it's luster about now for them.
It's relatively balmy here, 32 and dripping. We haven't gotten the new snow they said we might get. Yet.
It's 17 degrees here.
I got that water shutoff valve in the front yard cleared. Took a shovel and literally chopped away the ice from it. So that's a load off my mind...our pipes are old and they worry me to death.
It's only about 26 here right now.
Good... I hate to see you worry to death! That doesn't sound like a good way to go.
If we have a water problem we have to run out to the well house that's out at the store. We don't have a shutoff here at the house.
Still negative here. Brr. But beautiful. Just lovely. I love deep cold days with snow on the ground.
I'm hoping to spot my brothers somewhere in the crowd shots, though they didn't make it in front of the big judges. We'll see.
you froze the thread...
And is the spider web some sort of symbolism?
I don't bite...honest!
No, it was the best I could get searching for "frozen thread."
