Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Yeah, but you noticed that one young man, who's uncle had been taken, and had been given a pass by his neighbors in the name of PC turned out to be a stinker.
BTW have you seen the movie, Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle? Trashy, raunchy, obscene, but hilarious! That young man in "24" tonight was Kumar in that movie.
So did Rosie make it back ok?
We have actual snow, maybe two inches? Just enough to make the drive to work fun I'm sure. It's pretty though!
Yeah - she's back :~) She'll be rumbling to a start in a couple hours probably :~)
Did she miss 24? At least she knows how to find such things online.... that's the problem with must-see tv, I guess, you miss it and you're sorry.
Yeah - she missed it, but we DVRed it, so if she comes right home tonight, she'll have time to watch it here before the new ones start.
No sense going to work and then not being able to get home this evening....
heh, mee too. :-) going to use one my 'floating' days off. So far 9 vehicles have overturned in various and sundry mishaps, mostly on the KS side of the metro. Light traffic and icy roads means 'wow, I can drive fast'. sigh
Heh. Now we get snow!
Came in to werk this morning...must be tons of salt on the road.
I never did get into 24. Kinda came into it in the middle so nothing much makes sense.
I've found, over the last three years that I have gone without tv (well, without channels. I have always had the box itself) that I really don't miss anything... other than my occasional wish for local news/weather which I can get online anyway. And Amazing Race but it's good to give up my one reality tv show because that makes me a better person. Or something.
It's weird, though, going to people's houses where they do have tv and remembering "oh yeah, that's what commercials are like".
I didn't start watching it "live" until the the 5th season. Watched the first four on DVD.
I had Season 1 disc 1 on my Netflix Queue at one time but there was such a long wait on it that I just said forgeddaboutit.
I made it back OK - late, so today is going to require caffeine in large quantities.
Everything went well, the ceremony was beautiful, the reception was fun, no one was [seriously] injured at any time during the weekend. Very different from the last brother's wedding in that it was far grander - Latin Mass with a full professional choir, a big rented hall at the university there, and lots of little hor d'ourves and cloth napkins and all. ;-) It wasn't stuffy or anything, and they still did the whole MP3 jukebox thing for the music and the caterers were family friends who did the cooking at the bride's house, but it was different.
Then I came home and we handed the dog over the fence as the gates are frozen locked. That was fun.
I'm hoping he does OK for water today. I was going to put out warm water and hope it stayed thawed a good long while, but I didn't. There's snow, but...
We'll go get him in a bit. It's really cold to stay out all day. We've been taking the horses warm water every few hours.
From a nice Catholic family of course...
Glad you had fun!
Ugh, I get hives just thinking about complicated weddings. I had more than enough to do with the world's simplest wedding and the idea of a full choir or anything... shudder.
ecurbh's out trying to free our lock ;~)
Checking it. We're gonna check and see if a couple of elderly ladies in the neighborhood need anything, then we're heading to the store.
It's a beautiful sunny day...about 22 degrees...and solid ice out there. But we never lost power.
I love Asplundh.
How are things at the Ridge?
I just got some early intel from my source at the SHOT Show. The "Michigan secret handshake" is real. Full auto-yes, suppressed-no, short barrel-unknown.
