Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
BTW, were you able to spend some time with your lady friend during the Christmas holiday?
Dunno yet. We're having trouble finding a range still open or with member fees less than $6000/year.
Whoa, that fee is a 'series' bummer. We've got three indoor ranges that allow .22 rifles and rifles that shoot pistol cartridges. Apparently all are bargains compared to yours. We belong to two of them, OT belongs to one.
Yikes!
For $6000 a year, I'd expect to be able to fire 155mm howitzers on their range.
No, and that was planned. We decided some time ago to let this holiday period pass as usual; I did get over there the weekend prior and have a wee "Christmas" together. This weekend she's in Ohio for a cousin's wedding.
LOL
Many of the nearby ranges are in the process of being covered in houses.
Msdrby found one about 20-25 miles away that has unlimited range time on rifle, pistol or shotgun ranges for a flat fee of $10 per day.
Gonna have to visit that one.
There ya go...that sounds FAR more reasonable!
That beats the $10 per hour indoor range time near me. The range where one of their highly-trained employees put three rounds into the roof. "Near" is its only redeeming factor.
At least y'all were able to have some time together during the holidays.
~snif~
that's jes beautiful...
Patty left a kind comment on the Merry Band of Patriots thread...

Will you let me know if her family (that includes her military family too, of course), needs anything?
Yay, verily!
As I learn more, I'll keep everyone informed. Sympathy cards, definitely. Flowers, possibly. Anything more will depend on what I can find out.
Good Morning, can't believe it's mid-50s and we got an inch of rain. Back with gypsygirl, lots of new sniffs and a couple of new doggies in theshire, probably just visitors. Will be going to ~town~ later on.
I've got a second cuppa and am watching the last disc of Victory at Sea.
What's Victory at Sea?
I mean...besides the obvious?
