I like peep sights as well. My reference to "open" is a sight without lenses.

I thought it was only going to be two shows at one time. Are they doing the first four hours over two consecutive nights? GAK! Talk about getting hooked immediately!

I'd hate to be the producer of any show coming up against Jack in those time slots!

I've been meaning to tell you! I loved the show! The boys and I watched it on Christmas day (Steve's not in to musicals...you know he doesn't even like it when I play my pennywhistle). He must've been listening from the kitchen while working on the pipes because at one point he stuck his head around and said "That's a Christmas show?" I replied, "Yes...Corin's A of G." Steve replied "Oh...ok." and continued working! LOL! It was kinda funny.

Anyway, I think you did a great a great job...your son and wife too. But I must say...that Nativity was just stunning. I really really liked that part. The lighting and everything...it was perfectly done.

I'm making peppermint frozen custard in my Donvier. Chunked up some candy canes in it and everything!

Speaking of breathing...remember I was sick during that parade? I haven't been able to get over the cough. Sometimes it would feel like I was breathing through a straw. I finally bought some epinephrine inhaler (like Primatene, except it's Walmart brand).

My stars, I couldn't believe the relief it gave me!! I can feel like I can't catch my breath one minute and completely relieved a minute later! Amazing stuff!

Only it makes me real jittery...just what I need. Heh heh!

Heh, I had a bad reaction once while we were painting our bedroom the night before the installer came to put in new carpet. I had been suffering with bronchitis during the week, and ended up in respiratory distress. David drove me to the emergency room, so SirKit could finish painting, and they gave me an inhalation therapy treatment, then sent me home with a HUGH inhaler! That thing would blast those passages open in NO time! I think the active ingredient was Albuterol. A couple of years ago, when I was down in MS for the cousin reunion, I had another bout of bronchitis, and went to the Urgent Care Center. Got another inhaler, and it was Albuterol, too. Worked fine and dandy!

I like to pour chocolate syrup on mine.

This is outrageously good stuff...extremely rich. Do you have a Donvier (or the like?) If so, here's the recipe.

3 Eggs
2 Cups Milk
1 Cup Sugar
2 Cups Cream
1 tsp Vanilla
5 or 6 candy canes, chunked up in a food processor
1/8 tsp mint extract
Food coloring if desired. I used a bit of red.

Beat together the eggs and milk until smooth, then beat in the sugar and heat the mixture on low heat until it coats the spoon smoothly (about 10 minutes). Allow to cool (I put mine in the fridge over night). Mix in cream, vanilla, mint, chopped candy canes and food coloring, pour into maker and proceed per maker's directions (allow space for the ice cream to expand.)

We received an ice cream maker when we married, but I have no idea what happened to it. Same with our fondue pot. They disappeared in one of our moves, or we gave them away, and I just don't remember doing it.

I highly recommend the Donvier. There others out there like them, but I don't have any experience with them. My Donvier is probably 20 years old and works just like the day I got it.

It only makes a little bit, about a pint...you can get a bigger maker if you like, but I like it that it makes just enough for dessert. The recipe I made will make two batches in mine.

Well, I've had a bit of ice cream, but I dare not get to really going on it or I'll eat it up and the boys would be most unhappy! Heh heh!

Coffee?

I'm having Peets.

My brother in law (that used to teach at Stanford but doesn't drive a Mercedes or have room for a pony) got it for me. He sends it every year.

I just love it.

I also updated my blog, but it's so boring I'm not going to bother pinging anyone.

Amazingly, someone commented on it within a few minutes after I posted it.

I thought of you when the pipe burst under the sink.

Wondered if it was gonna be a Corin experience.

When the pipe broke, it broke inside the wall...it was the spigot that goes from under the kitchen sink water source out to the back yard for the garden hose. So I was in the kitchen and Joshua was watering the garden and I heard this spewing sound and opened the sink cabinet door to be sprayed in the face with water shooting all over.

I ran and screamed "SHUT OFF THE WATER" and Joshua, God bless him, without hesitation ran to the spigot and turned it off.

So, we found the problem and thought..."Easy"...we decided to just remove the spigot completely and cap it for now. Add it back some other day when it's nicer, warmer. So Steve got under the sink and as he twisted off the spigot connection, he broke the entire cold water pipe off. Sigh.

So, we went back to Lowes and got the repair stuff for that. He repaired that pretty easily. Then, he hit the drain pipe under sink and it broke all to pieces, from the sink to the wall where it exits the house to the septic.

So, we went back to Lowes and got THAT repair stuff. And got a couple of repair cartridges for the faucet while we were at it, because it's been dripping for a few months.

So we finally got it all fixed. No more leaks, no more drips Almost everything under the sink is brand new. It was all very old and fragile.

Stop and Shop sells JaVaNa coffee, and that company makes a Holiday Blend that is just scrumptious. They have a Decaf version that I love to have in the evenings.
