Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Yeah, for a little bit.
Are you coming up to the beach house with us on Christmas? We'd love for you to come.
It's a marshmallow world in the winter...
I'm trying to make up my mind what makes sense all around! Finally talked to my sister-in-law - they're going to one sister's for Christmas Eve and then to her Mom's for the actual day. I'm pretty much welcome to crash either party, though the Christmas Eve deal is going to be a hugh crowd...
And church has to fit into there somewhere. Maybe I could go on Christmas Even, and then on Christmas Day just stop by her mom's that evening...come home for a bit after hanging out with you guys, check on Cisco and go back up to Tacoma to drop off presents.
I need a few more days of the week this week.
Oh, and it's official, I'm going to have another niece. Kept saying "niece" when really we didn't know which one it was gonna be, but I was right. ;-)
What did I ever do to you?
How about this? You could follow us up in the morning, and then leave when you want and go to your brother's MIL's directly. You'd be practically there on the way home, it'd be a lot of extra driving to come all the way home first. We'll be coming back here somewhat early - hopefully by or close to dark, we can go get Cisco when we get home if you aren't home yet, then you can stay as late as you want.
Ooh...that could work! I'd get the best of all worlds... ;-)
And I could go to my usual church for Christmas Eve, too. I'm curious how Byzantines do Christmas liturgy. Should be nice.
OK - deal :~)
Should I bring anything?
If there's anything you want to include!... our Christmases are pretty casual, though I'm sure there will be a lot of food but we don't even usually do a real sit down meal, just a lot of counter browsing... Not sure what D's got planned this year.
We open presents of which my major one has already been given, you don't have to worry about having to get everyone a present or anything, just come and hang out. :~)
Can I come too?
We're up to 24 or 25 people. I honestly don't know where they'll fit in this house.
Wife told me today that she suggested Nana put her bra back on. No, it's not that, her gowns are loose so we can't tell. But apparently she hasn't been wearing one since her back started hurting (it's been a couple of months). Wife said, after 76 years of wearing foundation garments, now is not the time to stop. So Nana put one back on today. Already her back feels better.
Good grief.
...I'm not one to judge... I hate the things and never wear them ;~)
Mmmm...counter browsing...
BTW, as a semi-practical semi-present...if anyone has any empty beer bottles of the non-screw cap type around, I'll take 'em off your hands if you'll let me! Brother is getting into home-brewing and needs bottles. Don't have to be scrubbed or anything - he's going to remove labels and sterilize 'em and all.
I unfortunately just threw out the few I had.
Still, we're looking for a place. It's time.
WooHoo for Matthew!
You're off for the Twelve Days of Christmas? That's terrific!
That's cute. ;o)
Happy Birthday to your Dad!!
