The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

It is a very confusing traffic pattern down there; carpooling sounds like a very good idea!

See, I'm so glad to have missed that entire era...

Found a dog sitter for our puppies for Christmas. We managed to leave it late enough that either of the kennels we felt good about were full, and we were not taking them back to the place where we left them over Thanksgiving. so I was frantically calling yesterday and called a place that was listed as a boarder but turned out to be a dog grooming shop. But one of their groomers does dog sitting and we arranged to leave the dogs with her. Yay! Now I just have to finish Christmas shopping.

Too bad radioactive materials are hard to get last minute.

That reminds me. Sam needs spa reservations for a couple of days after Christmas when we go to my mom's...

Which reminds me...Hair and Ecurbh...don't think I ever formally asked, but any chance you could take or watch Cisco for a few days in January? While I'm at my brother's wedding? It'd be the 11th through the 14th...

I can set the cats up with the water and food dispenser thingies I have, and they can fend for themselves that long, so they're not an issue.

That 60% cacao chocolate is SO good. It makes terrific Marshmallow Creme Fudge because the fudge ends up not TOO sweet, but intensely chocolate, which I love.

It's gorgeous out today. SirKit is painting the last bit of siding that needed refeshing, and replacing the trim on the outside of one of the windows. There are a couple of more nice days, but they won't be warm enough for painting. We've been fortunate that this fall has been so mild.

I woke up with a rip-roaring headache though, so I'm taking it easy, going through boxes, pitching, consolidating and packing.
