Kidman Tops List of Highest-Paid Actress

Nicole Kidman is the queen of Hollywood when it comes to money. The Oscar winner, who earns as much as $17 million per movie, tops the fifth annual list of highest-paid actresses released Wednesday by The Hollywood Reporter.
Kidman, 39, ranked second on last year's list behind four-time top- earner Julia Roberts, who didn't make the list this year. She spent time with her 2-year-old twins.
In second place, with $15 million per movie, was Reese Witherspoon, 30, who won the best-actress Oscar this year for her performance in "Walk the Line."
Renee Zellweger, Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz placed third, fourth and fifth, respectively. They also get $15 million for each film.
Rounding out the top 10 are Halle Berry ($14 million), Charlize Theron ($10 million), Angelina Jolie ($10 million), Kirsten Dunst ($8 million to $10 million) and Jennifer Aniston ($8 million).
The list will appear in the Women in Entertainment Power 100 issue to be published by The Hollywood Reporter on Dec. 5.
Funny, the left never considers those "windfall" profits.
I liked Reese in Walk the Line..She is talented, and she sang all those songs herself.
I don't get the appeal of Julia Roberts. She is dog ugly and was launched by Richard Gere. What has Nicole Kidman been in that is worthy of $17 million?

Sure sounds like windfall profits to me. I think we need a cap on these obscene paychecks! Most of these actresses have been out there saying anti-American things in the past few years. I guess Hollywarped loves that! C. Diaz said during the 2004 election "If you don't want to get raped you should VOTE" She is such an airhead.

In the New York Post before Tom & Katie even started dating, in Page Six (gossip, celebrity section) they were talking about Tom Cruise's "auditions" for his next wife.
The leaker guaranteed there would be a marraige and a child, the first high profile audition was Penelope Cruz, it may be gossip, but everything that was leaked has come true.
Tom Cruise may turn out to be the next "Rock Hudson" after all.

No celebrity in today's world is worth that amount of money, but all that inflated cash inflates thier ego and they walk around with a status 0f *King and Queen*
No way did the greatest actors and athletes that are dead and gone now make this kind of money and they put today's entertainment folks to shame....
Nicole Kidman is a bore 2nd rate actress IMO and Julia Roberts had her day but just has a mediocore actor.
I also heard 11 year old Dakota Fanning was one of the highest paid actresses. I can see that, since todays's Celebrities are for a demographic of K-12.

During Ocean's 12 I sat through the movie thinking, "Man, is she ugly. She's uglier than I thought. Why is she looking so really ugly? What is it?"
In the final SUV scene when Danny Ocean is about to kiss her, it was "Wow, she's uglier than ever. George, how can you do that? Man, she has a really big mouth." Etc.

Hoffman, Hanks, DeNiro, Nicholson, Hopkins, I think among male actors there are still some really good ones.
Among females, I would have to give Jody Foster the nod.

I don't find her ugly. OTOH, I see nothing overwhelmingly attractive either. I don't understand her appeal either.
BTW, I had a hard time sitting thru Oceans 12. It had nothing on Oceans 11 - which I liked a lot.
Catherine Zeta-Jones was the only redeeming part of the movie.
Hey, I liked Jody too until I saw her in some topless photos.
When she sunk that low, I lost a lot of respect for her. (did she really need the money???) Still at least she has talent, I guess. Most actresses are just eye candy...no substance at all. I'd love to see any one of them play a role done by Bette Davis or Katherine Hepburn. It makes me laugh just to try to imagine it!
Cate Blanchett is very good I think. But there are so few good actresses now it is sad. Especially when there are many great male actors now.
