Yesterday, Tulsa saw temperatures drop from 70 degrees F to 45 degrees F within one minute's time. Tornado watches were issued ahead of the front with spotty reports of hail. As the storm progressed through Tulsa, thunderstorms pummeled the region with heavy rain and dangerous lightning (one strike hit a Catoosa home and burned it to the ground).

The rain continued unabated throughout the evening giving some parts of drought-striken Oklahoma three to four inches of rain with the remaining counties receiving at least two inches of precipitation.

Temperatures continued to drop in the overnight. The rain became ice and sleet until the region was covered with at least an inch of ice by daybreak. Currently, we are experiencing thunder ice storms. The NWS predicts 2-4 inches of ice to accumulate, then the storms will convert to thunder snowstroms in the afternoon hours. Accumulations of snow are expected to total 7 to 10 inches by Friday morning with higher amounts in various isolated areas. Winds are gusting to 35 mph so the NWS is predicting near blizzard conditions with drifting expected.

Friday and Saturday's outlook calls for frogs, water turning to blood, and off and on periods of fire and brimstone.

FYI, Bambi was a buck.

It's been a long time since my kids were that small and I saw the movie, but thinking back, you are right! I stand corrected.

My momma says you act feminine. Momma says you got a girl's name. Momma says you're not a dude. Momma says you have issues. Momma says butterflies on your butt is ambiguously gay.

LOL, I bet the snowbirds are wishing they stayed where they were today.

I know what you mean about buying shoes/boots online. Risky business, especially since I bought a size 5 at TJ's and nearly the identical boot at retail in a 6. Some eBayers have return policies but haven't found one yet that refunds shipping costs and these can run up to $20! Enjoy the cold. I don't mind it either since I learned how to dress for it in Colorado's high country before returning to the Midwest.

You sent your bitter cold down here to Austin, please take it back. I was wearing shorts, sandals and a t-shirt yesterday.

Delmont reporting on snow day in Poulsbo, we had about 5" last night but it's melting. The trouble is the ice from the little melt on Monday then Monday night Tuesday went down to 14 degrees at 3am. My horse Willy is glad to be inide his stall at night but not too happy being convined in the daytime. Glad Nov is over, hopefully December wont be a repeat.

The storm is on its way. Better pray it doesn't turn into a N'oreaster.

I was on the phone with some of our program partners at Boeing in Seattle today, and the snow happened to be the main topic of conversation.

The wether here in CT today was overcast and 60's.

I observed that same drop in temperature on my 13 mile drive home from work yesterday. It was 72 degrees when I started. By the time I got home, it was down to 45. I'm in NW Arkansas. Anyway, I'm not complaining too much because it's looking like I will have a second paid 4 day weekend in a row. Works for me.

"Our friends in Denver always tell us that."

I lived in Colorado for over 20 years. There's nothing comfortable about the dry cold. I think anybody who says that is just so numb from the cold, they don't notice any more. I thought I'd never get out of there. At least here, when winter's over, it's over. It doesn't come back again and again....and again.

"The temperature here in eastern N.C. is currently 76°."

It was here, too, yesterday. Now it's in the 20's. It is heading your way.
