NEW YORK Kelly Ripa's definitely not a Claymate. The talk show host went off on Aiken this morning on "Live With Regis and Kelly," saying "I don't think he was respectful in any way." She says Aiken was hostile toward her when they shared co-hosting duties on Friday's show.
She especially took issue with Aiken putting his hands over her mouth during an interview. She says you don't do that, even if it's for a laugh.
Regis Philbin says he's shocked the pair didn't hit it off, saying, "In my wildest dreams would I ever think that one day you would have a feud with Clay Aiken."
Not only hot but talented too.......
"On September 14, 2006, Ripa broke the world record for custard pie throwing, beating a record held by NASCAR driver Matt Kenseth. She threw 24 custard pies in one minute, beating Kenseth's record of 17 pies set a week earlier on her show when he threw them at Ripa. A representative from the Guinness Book of World Records was on hand to certify both claims"
Mango???
I wish I had seen the show, darn it!!!
LMAO!!!
LOL. I have a feeling little Clay Aiken messed with the wrong gal.
Kelly Ripa's a sharp woman, and has been "in the business" for a long time.
I laughed...shouldn't have.... but I did.
Let's see... Iran's building the bomb. North Korea claims they have the bomb. The Democrats want us to pull out of Iraq, and they now have control of Congress. We are facing an immigration crisis.
Yeah, I really care if Kelly is mad at Clay.
LOLLLLLL
To think I had heard from someone who worked with him last year that he was a very nice guy.
Speaking of the rosie o'donut, was there a recent dust up between Kelly Ripa and her?
I didn't know anything about this until they mentioned it on Fox and Friends. Rosie is trying to make a homophobia issue out of Kelly not wanting his hand on her mouth.
Why can't Rosie turn her attention to Muslim countries that are hanging gays and lesbians?
Recently found out that Rosie has a brother that is also gay. What a family!
Rosie O'Donnell said that Ripa's comment "You never know where that hand has been!" was homophobic. Maybe if she had said it about Rosie, it might have been true, I don't know. In any event, Ripa was more upset about being upstaged than she was about someone covering her mouth. I wonder what she was going to say that Aiken thought it necessary to stop her.
Somebody touching your face is a very personal thing, especially the mouth. And if she were in the process of speaking perhaps her tongue even grazed Clay's palm, thus her comment about germs. She is the mother of three very young children and I imagine she is vigilant about the passing of germs from one child to another, and it transferred to the situation she was in.
I do agree that it likely started with her just being angry that Clay as a guest co-host didn't appear to defer to her. I didn't see the initial comment on Monday that prompted Rosie to call her a homophobe, but I think there was more to her complaint than he put his hand on her mouth. Maybe Clay was clumsily trying to mimic the banter that goes on between Kelly with Regis. It is one thing for a person you have known for several years to touch you and quite another for a stranger to do it.
I don't disagree at all. I just think Kelly Ripa made too big a deal over the incident. She could have waited and said something about it during a break, but she is blowing this into a major incident, no doubt to boost ratings. Rosie O'Donnell is doing the same thing. What Clay Aiken did was wrong, but Ripa did make that comment. It is viewable and audible.
They are all three divas but I do think Kelly has the high ground, or at least her low ground isn't as low. The few times I have seen the show (I tape it when they have a guest I want to see) Kelly has been overly animated and an attention hog. I think that's what they want on the show, that's what Regis plays well with. But Regis is the straight man to Kelly's clown, and pardon the pun but Clay was brought in to fill Regis's shoes and be the straight man.
My issue is with Rosie. Didn't her problems with Star Jones stem from Star's marriage to a rumored gay man? And now Rosie has stuck her nose in here and offended everybody. Clay A. has made an obvious point of dodging questions about his sexuality and I'm sure he is just as upset by Rosie's grand standing.
Not every issue that involves a person who may or may not be gay (or is just rumored to be gay) is about homophobia.
