Ok, so there are 50 stories out right now about the PS3, and I'm not going to ping all of them. I decided to just create a single thread and list them all:
Edwards acknowledges staff asked Wal-Mart for Playstation 3
Sony Playstation (PS3) sells for $3600.00 on eBay
John Edwards and Wal-Mart: Playstation Before Principle
Lemmings over a cliff(Playstation 3 Stampede)
We have lost our minds, $33,000 for a playstation 3
Armed Thugs Shoot 1 Person Waiting in Wal-Mart PlayStation Line
Notice the number of items purchased did not increase from this mornings purchase? I think this is a scam as all the rest on eBay are running around 2,800-3,000.
I enjoy gaming. I have a PS2, GameCube, XBox-360, N-64, etc. And I am buying a Wii Sunday and adding a PS3 when they become more available.
Constructive is relative.
Every single Christmas is marked by one of these stories. This year, it is Playstation 3 and the new "Tickle me Elmo" Now, people are being seriously hurt.
Back when I watched it happen with the Cabbage Patch dolls, I swore I would never buy the product- ever, and I have held to that promise. There will never be a Playstation 3 in my home.
It always boils down to exclusives.
This will be the first generation where Sony can go toe-to-toe with Microsoft on a power level. I'm very interested to see how they will (try) to capitalize on that fact, and whether or not they can maintain enough devs to work only on their systems. In particular I'm paying close attention to Square-Enix, as one of its higher-ups has said in the past that exclusivity is becoming hard to swallow with the price of making games shooting through the roof. They've always placed their huge franchises on once console only.
