Well, Roll Tide! And Go Blue!

(I'm not really a Michigan fan, but since my f-i-l went there, I will cheer for them. Not to mention that hubby loves 'em.)

What's interesting is that both the Michigan at Ohio State game and the Cal at USC game could end up being classics.

>> Duke at (18) Georgia Tech (-26.5) ****UPSET WATCH****

Georgia Tech 21 – Duke 3 <<

I went to Tech. I root for Tech.
But this is exactly the kind of game where they underperform - I'd take Duke and 26 points in a heart beat.

And for all you fans of that big game, here's few ditties for you:

Ohio State ("Across the Field"):

Fight the team across the field
Show them Ohio's here,
Set the earth reverberating
With a mighty cheer,
Rah! Rah! Rah!
Hit them hard and see how they fall,
Never let that team get the ball,
Hail, hail, the gang's all here,
So let's win that old conference now.

University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) ("Hail to the Victors")

Hail! to the victors valiant
Hail! to the conqu'ring heroes
Hail! Hail! to Michigan
The leaders and best!
Hail! to the victors valiant
Hail! to the conqu'ring heroes
Hail! Hail! to Michigan,
The champions of the West!

I think Ohio State wins 28-20.

This is shaping up to be a very interesting season. If Michigan should win this weekend (unlikely, I think) and Notre Dame should beat USC (also pretty unlikely), it sets up a rematch of these two teams for all the marbles.

Rutgers
"The Bells Must Ring"

March, men of Rutgers,
Down the field today,
March to another score,
Foward to the fray,
Fight! men of Rutgers
As in days gone by,
Fight! for the Scarlet flag
Over the rest must fly.

(Chorus)
Keep Rutgers colors to the fore,
For they must win so fight, fight, fight!
And we'll advance some more to score,
The Rutgers flag flies high tonight, alright, alright.
We'll fling the Scarlet banner out,
And Rutgers men will fight, fight, fight!
The bells of Queens each victr'y shout,
The bells of Queens must ring tonight.
RU Rah Rah!
RU Rah Rah!
Hoorah! Hoorah!
Rutgers Rah!
Upstream Redteam!
Redteam Upstream!
Rah Rah Rutgers Rah!

New Mexico hasn’t disappointed yet this year. I pick them, they lose. I pick against them, they win. I paper this one doesn’t look like it will be very close. Let’s see how this prediction goes….

If New Mexico beats the mouth-breathing, window licking POS from Provo I'll personally drive to Albuquerque pick some random bar and buy the house a round. And you think I'm kidding. :)

However LLLLoyd tries to spin it, Tressel is in his head. Big time.

Lloyd storms off

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – On Monday, Michigan coach Lloyd Carr stormed out of an interview session here with "ESPN on ABC," loudly uttering F-bombs and screaming about the direction interview questions had taken. According to the Ann Arbor News it was one wild scene with a flipped-out coach, a "no comment" producer and a tense clash just days before the titanic No. 1 Ohio State vs. No. 2 Michigan matchup.

I guess waking up every night in a cold sweat after having nightmares of Ginn, Gonzalez and Smith dancing in his head has given us back the old crabby L. Carr, lol.

Ohio State 28 – Michigan 18

With LLLLoyd's meltdown and Manningham looking like he's less than 100%, I'll say Bucks 27 - UM 10. (A month ago predicted OSU 24 - UM 13

I agree with all your picks (even Cincy). I think buckeyes will win 17-14. Hard hitting defensive battle.

It's been cool watching ESPN Classics OSU-UM games...I taped 1974, 1979, 1969 & 1987.

I was funny on the 1974 game Joe Paterno was doing the color commentary during the game.

Re: the Ohio / Michigan State game today:

Michigan will win if Rush's "environmentalist whacko method" for picking the winner holds true.

It goes something like this:

Ohio is the Buckeye State. The Buckeye is a tree. Michigan is the Wolverine State. The wolverine is an animal of the type that uses trees for fireplugs. Since no tree has ever been able to stop a wolverine from peeing on it, that means the wolverines will win!

Ok, I gotta say, from what I have seen, both these teams (Michigan and OSU) stink.
