But what about the Glock knives?

I can't speak from personal experience, but if their quality is as good as their firearms, I'm sure they're terrific.

Been carrying legally since 1964. Good enough that I don't have to carry a Glock! As for classes, I've taught a few. You are trying really hard to impress people, but it isn't working, at all.

Crossed up on last post, it wasn't meant for armedand dangerous, but for some kind a snake.

I upgraded my 25 auto to one that was well built with a fair sense of accuracy. Then I had to find a mag for it.I was at a large gun show, and many dealers had piles of used and new mags.I finally found one.The price?45 bucks and was glad to pay it as it was the only one there!I have a gun shop in a nearby town that I really like,Very knowledgeable people run it.They can order me a new one for 65 bucks. When I inquired as to why they cost so much, they said it was a well made pistol that is no longer available.I draw a crowd at the range,as they cannot believe how accurate it is at 25 yards.I was kinda surprised myself.Maybe the wife will buy me a new mag for Christmas. She should. She has commandeered it for herself!!

Yeah, and I'm pleased the damned thing works, and is accurate, but, the deal with a .25ACP is that it is just big enough, to make a big man mad enough, to shove it up your arse! A .22 rimfire is a better stopper, how many squirrel hunters do you know who would switch over to .25ACP?

True, the advantage to me is,it is small enough to conceal,I do have an auto 22 with hollow points, but it is just a little to large.Just a little but enough. As for downing someone and making him mad,if the shots are placed correctly,he won't be mad anymore.

I'm a little curious. What was the old make and model and what's the new one you like so much? Thanks.

I will remember you in my prayers! I will pray that the first time your arse gets stuck in a crack you will have time to do all your calculations, and spectulations.
As for me, I will just dump enough lead and copper in to the barstard, to settle the issue, and I will spectulate, later!
Many years ago, I took a hit from a .22 short HP, right through the middle of my left hand, on a Saturday, and was back on the job as an aviation sheetmetal mechanic, the following Tuesday! Hell, I could have gone to work on Monday, but, whatthehell,I had sick leave coming, so I went fishing for a day!
After the bastard popped me with his dinky little popgun, I hauled out my old S&W M-10, and just couldn't bring myself to shooting him in the back!
When you draw a weapon, the idea is to forever stop the bastard from doing diddly squat, right now, and forever!
I concealed an S&W M59 for many years, it wasn't ever a problem.
If I need to shoot a squirrel, a snake, or a coon, I will grab the little Colt .22, anything bigger, no way!
Tell me this, have you ever been hunting, and shot something that didn't get scared, but got really pissed off, and charged?
Hell, I don't take any pride from the killing I've done, but, have you ever popped a cap on anything living? Have you ever faced anything, or anyone, that would eat your arse, if you didn't stop them?

Six years in the Infantry during the Viet Nam war,the answer to many of your questions is yes.As far as hunting goes,I have done none since my discharge.Seemed to have lost a taste for it.While I was in,a few friends and I went bear hunting. One guy panicked and gut shot a very large and angry bear.He proceeded to come at us and his intentions were obvious. All of us had large cal.weapons and we let them rip.He stopped 50 feet in front of us.An eye opener for sure. The same dumbass runs up to the bear]large black bear]and then stuck his knife into his belly, which created the worst smell[well.one of the worst smells]I had experienced. We were very angry at this dumbass,so we made him carry out the meat we wanted, and the skin.I have numerous guns for all types of situations.410 for rattlers,30-30 for coyotes and wild boar, etc. The 25 is what I carry,as it is very unnoticeable. If I was a larger man,yes I would carry something larger, but it is not practical or conducive to my everyday needs. When I take a road trip, that is a whole nother story.I live in West Texas and anywhere from where I live is a road trip. So,to answer your question, yes I have been in many life threatening situations.I don't talk about them much, because in all reality,no one really gives a shit. And I have learned that the few time I ever mentioned it,the people always seemed to act strange towards me from then on.It is not something to brag about.Regards, xarmydog

If one is bound and determined to stake their lives on a 22, I say get a good one and learn to make head shots.

Choose a good quality smith and wesson, ruger or taurus revolver, or get one of those new Walther P-22 autopistols.

Practice head and upper torso shots on paper targets. If nothing else, it will make you a better shot.

Remember, this is 22 Long Rifle, not 22 short..

Try to find one of the old High Standard .22 Magnum Deringers, only 2 shots, but really, I just can't depend on a .25ACP. I have an old, very old, S&W 1st model hammerless, in .32 S&W short, must have been carried by a "working girl", the barrel has been chopped, and a hole drilled in the top rib, that little gun likely hung around in some interesting places, LOL, but it throws more lead than a .25. It is small enough to hide in my hand, if I can't hide the M-59.
I just hate to shoot something, and watch it flop around and bawl for 10 minutes. I don't hunt these days, either, no hungry kids around.
Take care.

I own two Sigmas - one in 9mm and one in .40 cal. I've had the best luck at finding hi-cap mags at gun shows.

Well, this guys gun seems fine. Ive heard nothing but bad reports about them aside from one good review at www.gunblast.com

Ive found more of them for sale, but a lot of em are 10 rounders...which is fine for practice. He's going to get four high caps and four ten rounders for range practice and spares.

I've fired over 200 rounds through each. No problems. I bought the 9mm used and it had a 16 rd mag. I found another at a gun show along with 2 16 rd mags for the .40. They weren't cheap but affordable at about $15 each.

Thanks for the info.I have looked around for something similar, but the only ones I find are either beat,or overpriced.Years ago when I played honkytonks in WA.State,I had a two shot derringer that used 22 lr.I used 22lr hollow points. It was small and compact, and I wish I had never traded it off.I am not up to snuff on a lot of non military weapons, but a 32 cal that is concealable does interest me.I know the 25 has its shortcomings, but I have 7 chances to get it right.Plus,it is something my wife would carry,as she has owned them before.I have a number of 22 pistols but none that small. That is the only advantage, besides being fairly accurate.I have fired a bunch of 25s and most you couldn't hit the broad side of a barn!If you by any chance have a few pics of some small 32s,I sure would like to see them.I wish i knew how to use this stupid computer as I have everything needed to fax, copy, print, scan, but no brains to run it!I appreciate your help,as I have been meaning to upgrade that particular item. You can send private reply if you choose to do so.Thanks, xarmydog
