Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.
Psalm 127:1>
At this time, when feelings run high, the world seems crazy, and anger seems to be the one thing the peoples of the world have in common, I invite you, my fellow FReepers, to join me in prayers and meditation for guidance, God's help and for our fellow man, for America, our troops, and all our own needs.
Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Fathers throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief
And oft escaped the tempters snare
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!
William Bradbury
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth should change,
though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble with its tumult.
Psalm 46: 1-3
Your tagline brings a smile each time I see it and am reminded of that profound phrase.
It echoes in my mind in Latin as well as it commences the last Gospel of our Mass. In principio erat Verbum...
Your posts are a great start to our day.

2Ki 6:16 He said, "Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them."
2Ki 6:17 Then Elisha prayed and said, "O LORD, please open his eyes that he may see." So the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

Father we praise you today.
Open our eyes Lord to your Protection of us.
Help us see your Truth and Beauty.
Send us out today in the Power of your Spirit and in the strength of your Word so that others may see Jesus in our lives and through our words and deeds.
Help us to have courage. You are with us.
Most of all Lord, help us to see Jesus.
Help us to see the Wonder of your Love, our Saviour, Christ the LORD.
We would see Jesus; lo! His star is shining
Above the stable while the angels sing;
There in a manger on the hay reclining;
Haste, let us lay our gifts before the King.
We would see Jesus, Marys Son most holy,
Light of the village life from day to day;
Shining revealed through every task most lowly,
The Christ of God, the life, the truth, the way.
We would see Jesus, on the mountain teaching,
With all the listening people gathered round;
While birds and flowers and sky above are preaching
The blessedness which simple trust has found.
We would see Jesus, in His work of healing,
At eventide before the sun was set;
Divine and human, in His deep revealing
Of God made flesh, in loving service met.
We would see Jesus, in the early morning,
Still as of old He calleth, Follow Me!
Let us arise, all meaner service scorning;
Lord, we are Thine, we give ourselves to Thee.

This one needs to be sung with multiple voices overlapping each other, but so far I have only heard it in my head:
Verbum
Word
Logos
That which was from the beginning
In the beginning was the Word
By the word of the Lord the heavens were made
And God said
By his breath the host of heaven
Word
Logos
Verbum
The Word that goes forth from God's mouth
We declare unto you the life, the eternal life which was with the Father
it shall not return to him empty.
Logos
Verbum
Word
The name he is called by is the Word of God
et Verbum erat apud Deum
And the Word was with God
Behold his glory
In him was life, and the life was the light of men
The only Begotten
et Deus erat Verbum
And the Word was God
And every knee shall bow
Verbum
Word
Logos
Verbum caro factum est et habitavit in nobis.

Magnificat anima mea Dominum
I will greatly rejoice in the LORD,
my soul shall exult in my God;
for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation,
he has covered me with the robe of righteousness,
as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland,
and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
Isaiah 61:10
Magnificat anima mea Dominum!
Magnify,
Yes, magnify the Lord, O my soul,
Yes my soul magnifies you, O my Lord,
for the glory of being touched by divine Fire,
undeserved,
unearned,
touched only because of your love,
an amazing thing.
Magnificat anima mea Dominum!
O let my soul magnify you, O Lord,
For you dress me in dazzling white.
How precious the garment,
the robe of Your salvation,
of infinite value,
purchased by a price
no mere man could ever pay,
the threads spun in the pain,
and grief,
and blood,
woven in your death,
fulled in the fire
of Your glorious ressurection,
O Son of Man,
O Son of God,
O Lord who emptied himself
To call us home
just for love.
Magnificat anima mea Dominum!

Amen

Psa 27:1 The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Lord strengthen our courage. There are many of our Brothers and Sisters facing great difficulty. I ask that you would continually hold them up. When they turn and need your support, let them find you there. You have promised to never leave us or forsake us.
Psa 27:2 When evildoers assail me to eat up my flesh, my adversaries and foes, it is they who stumble and fall.
Father, blast the cancer that is threatening the lives of so many.
Bring healing in the Name of Jesus.
Do a wonder.
Open doors and make a way where there seems to be no way.
Psa 27:3 Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet I will be confident.
Help us all to see with eyes of faith...to walk by faith and not by sight. Let them be comforted when they feel the calm and peace you will bring. May it be with them even like a light in a dark place.
Psa 27:4 One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in his temple.
Psa 27:5 For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock.
Lord, though difficulty arises, yet we are looking and looking for your faithful deliverance because we KNOW it is coming.
Psa 27:6 And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me, and I will offer in his tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing and make melody to the LORD.
Father we praise you that you never fail us. We know that you have told us the Truth. We hope in you. We thank you for your provision. We watch for your Loving hand.
Psa 27:7 Hear, O LORD, when I cry aloud; be gracious to me and answer me!
Psa 27:8 You have said, "Seek my face." My heart says to you, "Your face, LORD, do I seek."
Psa 27:9 Hide not your face from me. Turn not your servant away in anger, O you who have been my help. Cast me not off; forsake me not, O God of my salvation!
Psa 27:10 For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the LORD will take me in.
Lord strengthen me when the trial becomes so great that all I can pray is, "help me...." even then you are with me.
Psa 27:11 Teach me your way, O LORD, and lead me on a level path because of my enemies.
Psa 27:12 Give me not up to the will of my adversaries; for false witnesses have risen against me, and they breathe out violence.
Psa 27:13 I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living!
Psa 27:14 Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!

Have you not known, have you not heard
That firm remains on high
The everlasting throne of Him
Who formed the earth and sky?
Are you afraid His power shall fail
When comes your evil day?
And can an all creating arm
Grow weary or decay?
Supreme in wisdom as in power
The Rock of Ages stands,
Though Him you cannot see, nor trace
The working of His hands.
He gives the conquest to the weak,
Supports the fainting heart;
And courage in the evil hour
His heavenly aids impart.
Mere human power shall fast decay,
And youthful vigor cease;
But they who wait upon the Lord
In strength shall still increase.
They with unwearied feet shall tread
The path of life divine;
With growing ardor onward move,
With growing brightness shine.
On eagles wings they mount, they soar,
Their wings are faith and love;
Till, past the cloudy regions here,
They rise to Heavn above.

Touch the doctors caring for her with your wisdom and may all there know your healing touch, and the peace that only comes from you.
