The Prayer Room: Praying for America, FR, and all who need it
Various | 11/8/06 | Knitting a Conundrum

Posted on 11/09/2006 6:49:58 PM PST by Knitting A Conundrum

Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.

Psalm 127:1
>

At this time, when feelings run high, the world seems crazy, and anger seems to be the one thing the peoples of the world have in common, I invite you, my fellow FReepers, to join me in prayers and meditation for guidance, God's help and for our fellow man, for America, our troops,  and all our own needs.

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Father’s throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief
And oft escaped the tempter’s snare
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!

William Bradbury

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth should change,
though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble with its tumult.

Psalm 46: 1-3

Psa 97:1 The LORD reigns, let the earth rejoice; let the many coastlands be glad!
Psa 97:2 Clouds and thick darkness are all around him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
Psa 97:3 Fire goes before him and burns up his adversaries all around.
Psa 97:4 His lightnings light up the world; the earth sees and trembles.
Psa 97:5 The mountains melt like wax before the LORD, before the Lord of all the earth.
Psa 97:6 The heavens proclaim his righteousness, and all the peoples see his glory.
Psa 97:7 All worshipers of images are put to shame, who make their boast in worthless idols; worship him, all you gods!
Psa 97:8 Zion hears and is glad, and the daughters of Judah rejoice, because of your judgments, O LORD.
Psa 97:9 For you, O LORD, are most high over all the earth; you are exalted far above all gods.
Psa 97:10 O you who love the LORD, hate evil! He preserves the lives of his saints; he delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
Psa 97:11 Light is sown for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart.
Psa 97:12 Rejoice in the LORD, O you righteous, and give thanks to his holy name!

REDEEMER LORD, You reign above all.
You are King and Mighty God.
We praise your Name.
We long for the coming of your SON.
We need to see you all day long.
We need to hear the voice of your Spirit who walks along side us to guide and direct us into all Truth.
Give us that hidden manna from your Word which will strengthen us and preserve us by your Grace.

http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/o/f/o/ofor1000.htm

O for a thousand tongues to sing
My great Redeemer’s praise,
The glories of my God and King,
The triumphs of His grace!

My gracious Master and my God,
Assist me to proclaim,
To spread through all the earth abroad
The honors of Thy name.

Jesus! the name that charms our fears,
That bids our sorrows cease;
’Tis music in the sinner’s ears,
’Tis life, and health, and peace.

He breaks the power of canceled sin,
He sets the prisoner free;
His blood can make the foulest clean,
His blood availed for me.

He speaks, and, listening to His voice,
New life the dead receive,
The mournful, broken hearts rejoice,
The humble poor believe.

Hear Him, ye deaf; His praise, ye dumb,
Your loosened tongues employ;
Ye blind, behold your Savior come,
And leap, ye lame, for joy.

In Christ your Head, you then shall know,
Shall feel your sins forgiven;
Anticipate your heaven below,
And own that love is heaven.

Glory to God, and praise and love
Be ever, ever given,
By saints below and saints above,
The church in earth and heaven.
--Charles Wesley

Mar 4:35 On that day, when evening had come, He told them, "Let's cross over to the other side of the lake."

Mar 4:36 So they left the crowd and took Him along since He was already in the boat. And other boats were with Him.

Mar 4:37 A fierce windstorm arose, and the waves were

breaking over the boat, so that the boat was already being swamped.

Mar 4:38 But He was in the stern, sleeping on the cushion. So they woke Him up and said to Him, "Teacher! Don't you care that we're going to die?"

Mar 4:39 He got up, rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Silence! Be still!" The wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

Mar 4:40 Then He said to them, "Why are you fearful? Do you still have no faith?"

Mar 4:41 And they were terrified and asked one another, "Who then is this? Even the wind and the sea obey Him!"
...........

Remember Brothers and Sisters, HE told them to go out on the Lake.
They didn't go off on their own idea.....
They were in His Will when the storm struck.
And He was there.
So they would Trust Him.

...........
Fierce was the wild billow,
Dark was the night,
Oars labored heavily,
Foam glimmered white;

Trembled the mariners,
Peril was high,
Then said the GOD of GOD,
-"Peace, it is I."

Ridge of the mountain-wave,
Lower thy crest!
Wail of Euroclydon,
Be thou at rest!

Sorrow can never be,-
Darkness must fly,-
Where saith the Light of Light
-"Peace, it is I."

Jesu, Deliverer!
Come thou to me!
Soothe Thou my voyaging
Over Life's sea.

Thou, when the storm of Death
Roars, sweeping by,
Whisper, O Truth of Truth!
-"Peace, it is I."
--Anatolius 458 A.D.

So Thankful for our Master's Dear Saints! Our Lord Please Bless Everyone on this Thread!

"Amen! Yes! Hallelujah!
From the Throne came a shout, a command:
'Praise our God, all you his servants,
All you who fear him, small and great!'
Then I heard the sound of massed choirs,
The sound of a mighty cataract,
The sound of strong thunder:
Hallelujah! The Master reigns,
Our God, the Sovereign-Strong!
Let us celebrate, let us rejoice,
Let us give him the glory!
The Marriage of the Lamb has come;
His Wife has made herself ready.
She was given a bridal gown
Of bright and shining linen.
The linen is the righteousness of the saints."

Oh, may those Days Come Soon, O Father our King! How we Long to See You and Your Son! How Blessed are You, our Savior; how Great, how Overflowing with Grace. Help us, our Shepherd, to Live in Thy Joy and Thy Love. Cause us to Walk in the Gentle Graces of Thy Spirit. Impart to us the Sweetness of our Christ, that All will be Attracted to the Master we Serve. We Rejoice in You, and in Your Wonderous Salvation! In Thy Name, and for the Glory of the King we Pray, amen.

So sorry I didn't get to read the thread until now and just saw your post. I've lit a virtual prayer candle for D and D.

"Father in Heaven, please give Your solace and respite from worldly care to D and D, parents of young Brad, who was killed in a car accident. TIA"

That's all I had room for, but hope it helps them. Thank you for telling us.

Hear our prayer, this day, O Lord,
And let our cry come unto Thee,
You who walk with us through the valley,
You who guide us across the sea,
Hear the wailing of our sorrow,
Each loss felt bitterly,
Every day reaching up to Heaven,
Lord, have mercy on me.

Miserare nobis, always --
How we send this cry to Thee,
Walking past the man in sorrow,
Focusing only on our "me".
Teach us, Lord, to hear your answer,
Give us, Lord, the eyes to see
How to learn to love each other,
Lord, have mercy, hear my plea.

Lord, bring light to cure our blindness,
Open up our hearts to see,
How you gave your life to love us,
Died in pain most miserably,
There to teach us all the lesson
Of how love is God's own key,
Help us strip away the shadows,
Lord have mercy, hear my plea.

Lord, may those of us who love you
Learn how not to turn and flee
When the need cries out for our hands,
When our hearts quake miserably,
Teach us how to walk that hard path
Transformed by Your love's truth to see
How we are the tools in your hand,
There to be Your love's mercy.

Our Master, our King, we Pray for Thy Blessings to be with Hurting Hearts. So Many Need Thee, our Loving and Gracious God. Come to them, our Master, with Armloads of Blessing and Grace. Lift them Up, our Father, be Glorified in the Midst of their Trials. We Joy in Thy Strength; we Lift High Thy Praise. "Hallelujah! Sing to God a Brand-New Song, Praise Him in the Company of All who Love Him." (Ps.149:1) "For God is Great, and Worth a Thousand Hallelujahs." (Ps.96:4)

Splendor and Beauty are Yours, our Worthy Lord. All Hail our God of Love, our Master of Grace. In the Name of Jesus Christ, we Praise You Forevermore, amen.

Gen 22:8 Abraham answered, "God Himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son." Then the two of them walked on together.

Luk 12:29 Don't keep striving for what you should eat and what you should drink, and don't be anxious.
Luk 12:30 For the Gentile world eagerly seeks all these things, and your Father knows that you need them.
Luk 12:31 "But seek His kingdom, and these things will be provided for you.

Phi 4:6 Don't worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.
Phi 4:7 And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Father in Heaven, full of Goodness and Mercy, showing Lovingkindness to us who merit something else, thank you for all your provision today, and all you provided yesterday, and all you will provide tomorrow, not of things only, but of Love and Grace and heavenly Joy in Jesus Christ.
You looked down Time's avenue and saw our need, and while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
I ask you to help all those who cry to you and all those who wait patiently in hope.
I ask for rest for the weary and comfort for those in trouble.
I ask for healing and courage for those who are sick.
I ask for Wisdom for All.
I rest in you LORD and thank you for the wonder of knowing You.

The Lord my Shepherd holds me
Within His tender care,
And with His flock He folds me,
No want shall find me there.
In pastures green He feeds me,
With plenty I am blest;
By quiet streams He leads me,
And makes me safely rest.

Whatever ill betides me,
He will restore and bless;
For His Name’s sake He guides me,
In paths of righteousness.
Thy rod and staff shall cheer me
In death’s dark vale and shade,
For Thou wilt then be near me;
I shall not be afraid.

My food Thou dost appoint me,
Supplied before my foes;
With oil Thou dost anoint me,
My cup of bliss o’erflows.
Thy goodness, Lord, shall guide me,
Thy mercy cheer my way;
A home Thou wilt provide me
Within Thy house always.

I Love that Hymn So Much, my Sister in Christ; I Noticed that it's Author is Unknown; just to Think, our Loving Master Knows the Vessel He Used to Bless His Church with those Words! How Gracious He is to Provide 'a Word in Season' for His Children's Edification and Comfort. Great are You, our Awesome God of Grace!

"I love you, God—
You make me strong.
God is bedrock under my feet,
The castle in which I live,
My rescuing knight.
My God—the high crag
Where I run for dear life,
Hiding behind the boulders,
Safe in the granite hideout.

I sing to God, the Praise-Lofty,
And find myself safe and saved." (Ps.18:1-3)

"What a God!
His Road Stretches Straight and Smooth.
Every God-Direction is Road-Tested.
Everyone who Runs Toward Him
Makes it." (Ps.18:30)

Yes, our Majestic and Praise-Worthy God! Our Blessed Rock, our King of Lovingkindness, our Life! We Love You, Papa-Father, and Love to Lift High Your Name. Your Radiance, Your Magnificence, Keep us Singing Your Praise. Thank You for Bathing our Lives in Your Grace. Please Pardon our Sins through the Blood of our Christ, and Lead us Safely to Your Home.

We Follow You, our Shepherd, and Hear You Calling our Names. Through Your Sacrifice, through Your Tender Mercies, we Stand, Safe, in Thy Care. Be Pleased, our King, to Help us to Love You Always. Bless All who Pause Here to Pray, as we Exalt You, Master, amen.

Thank you - always my favorite psalm. I don't have sound on my puter, so sometimes I have to make up my own tune as I read the lyrics.

For some reason, this one came out to the tune of "The Church's One Foundation" for me. Can't check it, but it worked well in my humming!
