The Prayer Room: Praying for America, FR, and all who need it
Various | 11/8/06 | Knitting a Conundrum

Posted on 11/09/2006 6:49:58 PM PST by Knitting A Conundrum

Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.

Psalm 127:1
>

At this time, when feelings run high, the world seems crazy, and anger seems to be the one thing the peoples of the world have in common, I invite you, my fellow FReepers, to join me in prayers and meditation for guidance, God's help and for our fellow man, for America, our troops,  and all our own needs.

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Father’s throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief
And oft escaped the tempter’s snare
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!

William Bradbury

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth should change,
though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble with its tumult.

Psalm 46: 1-3

Oh, to be but emptier, lowlier, mean, unnoticed, and unknown!
And to God a vessel holier, filled with Christ, and Christ alone!

Amen, our cry as one.

One Friday

That Friday morning the city saw a sight,
Swollen with the crowd,
Chattering and loud,
Witness to a miracle of light,
An amazing thing they would not understand.

That Friday as an angry group cried out,
Yelling in the streets
As the hard whips beats
His back for them even while they shout,
Offering his all into the Father's hand.

The bored and angry soldiers marched along,
Dragging three three to die
Crossbeams held up high
Followed by a sad and angry throng
Stopping only when he falls onto the sand.

They reached the place of death by city gate
A place for all to see
The dying infamy.
Those coming for the feast arriving late,
Had to pass the noisy execution band.

An amazing thing was wrought for all to see,
Although they did not know
There as his blood did flow
A new sacrifice was made to set men free,
A gift of love to heal the heart's demand.

Lord bring me back in mind to see that day
When burdened by man's sin,
You died to let us in
Into the light of heaven's golden way,
Love's triumph that the dark could not withstand.

Amen to your Incredible, Spirit-Enabled Prayer, Sister Carbine! Praying the Surgery for bp7 Went Well, and Lifting All the Needs of our Lord's Lambs before the Throne of Grace.

"The billows swell, the winds are high,
Clouds overcast my wintry sky;
Out of the depths to Thee I call,
My fears are great, my strength is small.

O Lord, the pilot's part perform,
And guard and guide me through the storm;
Defend me from each threatening ill,
Control the waves, say, "Peace! be still."

Amidst the roaring of the sea
My soul still hangs her hope on Thee;
Thy constant love, thy faithful care,
Is all that saves me from despair.

Dangers of every shape and name
Attend the followers of the Lamb,
Who leave the world's deceitful shore,
And leave it to return no more.

Though tempest-toss'd and half a wreck,
My Saviour through the floods I seek;
Let neither winds nor stormy main
Force back my shatter'd bark again." *William Cowper*

Our Strong God, our Shelter of Love, we Cling to Thee, our Sovereign, Gracious God. How Faithful you are, Good King Jesus; how Your Strength is our Stay. We Plead for Help for Your Lambs, and for Quick Healing for your Child bp7. Grant Heavenly Resources, Heavenly Provisions, to Your Children who are Calling Upon Thee. In Jesus' Name we Stand and Trust, Glorifying our King, amen.

Thanks for your prayers and love.
All went well.
I am going to bed.

Update on Michael and Karleigh

Karleigh is off the ventilator, walking in the hallway, able to eat some by mouth, and having steroids and TPN tapered down. All pressures under control and ostomy healing. 14 years old is young for such intense suffering. The LORD has a plan for her to comfort with the comfort she has received...

Michael is receiving antibiotics but is still pretty congested and the Cystic fibrosis is making it worse.

Nik for whom you prayed earlier made a rapid and bouncing recovery!

Please keep praying for them both. We gladly lay all before you LORD of LIFE and LORD of JOY.
Somebody shout hallelujah!
