Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.
Psalm 127:1>
At this time, when feelings run high, the world seems crazy, and anger seems to be the one thing the peoples of the world have in common, I invite you, my fellow FReepers, to join me in prayers and meditation for guidance, God's help and for our fellow man, for America, our troops, and all our own needs.
Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Fathers throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief
And oft escaped the tempters snare
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!
William Bradbury
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth should change,
though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble with its tumult.
Psalm 46: 1-3

Let us love and sing and wonder,
Let us praise the Saviors Name!
He has hushed the laws loud thunder,
He has quenched Mount Sinais flame.
He has washed us with His blood,
He has brought us nigh to God.
Let us love the Lord Who bought us,
Pitied us when enemies,
Called us by His grace, and taught us,
Gave us ears and gave us eyes:
He has washed us with His blood,
He presents our souls to God.
Let us sing, though fierce temptation
Threaten hard to bear us down!
For the Lord, our strong Salvation,
Holds in view the conquerors crown:
He Who washed us with His blood
Soon will bring us home to God.
Let us wonder; grace and justice
Join and point to mercys store;
When through grace in Christ our trust is,
Justice smiles and asks no more:
He Who washed us with His blood
Has secured our way to God.
Let us praise, and join the chorus
Of the saints enthroned on high;
Here they trusted Him before us,
Now their praises fill the sky:
Thou hast washed us with Your blood;
Thou art worthy, Lamb of God!
Hark! the Name of Jesus, sounded
Loud, from golden harps above!
Lord, we blush, and are confounded,
Faint our praises, cold our love!
Wash our souls and songs with blood,
For by Thee we come to God.

Thank you so much for sharing your testimony!
Eph 6:13
(ALT) Analytical Literal Translation
For this reason, take up the full armor of God, so that you* shall be able to resist in the day of evil, and having accomplished [or, overcome] everything, to stand firm.
(ASV) Wherefore take up the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand.
(CEV)Contemporary English Version
So put on all the armor that God gives. Then when that evil day comes, you will be able to defend yourself. And when the battle is over, you will still be standing firm.
(ESV) Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.
(GB) Geneva Bible
For this cause take vnto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to resist in the euill day, and hauing finished all things, stand fast.
(GNB) So put on God's armor now! Then when the evil day comes, you will be able to resist the enemy's attacks; and after fighting to the end, you will still hold your ground.
(HCSB) This is why you must take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having prepared everything, to take your stand.
(ISV) For this reason, take up the whole armor of God so that you may be able to take a stand in that evil day. And when you have done everything you could, you will be able to stand firm.
(KJV) Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
(Tyndale) For this cause take vnto you the armoure of God yt ye maye be able to resist in the evyll daye and to stonde perfect in all thinges.
(WNT) Weymouth New Testament
Therefore put on the complete armour of God, so that you may be able to stand your ground on the day of battle, and, having fought to the end, to remain victors on the field.
(YLT) because of this take ye up the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to resist in the day of the evil, and all things having done--to stand.
Lord, I thank you that you have indeed finished all.
You have saved me and provided me with all that I need for godliness and contentment, including the armor for the battles in my life.
I can stand and have victory over sin.
I have been made victorious.
Rom 8:37 _But_ in all these [things] we are completely victorious through the One having loved us.
I must stand in You and your Truth.
I thank you for the continual Love and help that you provide by your Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth.
Joh 16:13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.
Today LORD I want to quietly and deeply consider how thorough is this Salvation, and how complete your care is of me and all those who love your appearing.
Ti 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.
Stand up, my soul, shake off thy fears,
And gird the Gospel armor on,
March to the gates of endless joy,
Where thy great Captain-Saviors gone.
Hell and thy sins resist thy course,
But hell and sin are vanquished foes;
Thy Jesus nailed them to the cross,
And sung the triumph when He rose.
What though the prince of darkness rage,
And waste the fury of his spite,
Eternal chains confine him down
To fiery deeps and endless night.
What though thine inward lusts rebel,
Tis but a struggling gasp for life;
The weapons of victorious grace
Shall slay thy sins, and end the strife.
Then let my soul march boldly on,
Press forward to the heavnly gate;
There peace and joy eternal reign,
And glittring robes for conquerors wait.
There shall I wear a starry crown,
And triumph in almighty grace,
While all the armies of the skies
Join in my glorious Leaders praise.

Meditation on Malachi 6:8
Nations now rage across the world,
pax, pax vobiscum,
Sword in hand, flags unfurled,
Et cum spiritu tuo.
They stand for good, they stand for greed,
pax, pax vobiscum,
They rage over words, they kill over creed
Et cum spiritu tuo.
Voices weeping in the night,
pax, pax vobiscum,
breed new hates by morning's light.
Et cum spiritu tuo.
Daughters slain for father's pride
pax, pax vobiscum,
Mothers kill their child inside,
Et cum spiritu tuo.
Orphans are removed from sight,
pax, pax vobiscum,
Disappearing in the night.
Et cum spiritu tuo.
Dogs fed better than homeless man,
pax, pax vobiscum,
Ragpickers living where they can,
Et cum spiritu tuo.
God turned into sign of war,
pax, pax vobiscum,
A bloody mark upon the door,
Et cum spiritu tuo.
O who will break these chains of night,
pax, pax vobiscum,
And lead the weeping into light?
et cum spiritu tuo.
God has told you what to do
pax, pax vobiscum,
To live with Him and brothers, too,
et cum spiritu tuo.
Walk humbly with Him, hand in hand,
pax, pax vobiscum,
To find that peace across the land,
et cum spiritu tuo.
Know all you see are God's children,
pax, pax vobiscum,
Treat all like they belong to him,
et cum spiritu tuo.
Walk in the paths of justice right,
pax, pax vobiscum,
Love mercy like it's Heaven's light
et cum spiritu tuo.
Act lovingly to rich and poor,
pax, pax vobiscum,
And God will open wide his door.
et cum spiritu tuo.
The peace that comes from Heaven's touch
pax, pax vobiscum,
requires your all, returns so much,
et cum spiritu tuo.
This peace is passed from hand to hand,
pax, pax vobiscum,
across a dark and savage land
et cum spiritu tuo.
Nations may rage, but there within
pax, pax vobiscum,
You'll find God's peace where he's let in
et cum spiritu tuo.
Man may maim and man may kill,
pax, pax vobiscum,
The light of God will reach out still.
et cum spiritu tuo.
(pax, pax vobiscum = peace, peace be with you
et cum spiritu tuo = and with your spirit)

....but also a sword, with which to annoy the foe.....

I like that.
Excellent Sermon. Instructive, encouraging.
Absolutely relevant!
Many Thanks.
"Take a long, hard look;
See how great God is;
Infinite,
Greater than anything
We could ever imagine
Or figure out.
He pulls water up
Out of the sea,
Distills it, and fills up
His rain-cloud cisterns.
Then the skies open up
And pour out soaking showers
On everyone.
Does anyone have the slightest idea
How this happens?
How he arranges the clouds,
How he speaks in thunder?
Just look at that lightning,
His sky-filling light show
Illumining the dark depths of the sea!
These are the symbols
Of his sovereignty,
His generosity, his loving care.
He hurls arrows of light,
Taking sure and accurate aim.
The High God roars in the thunder,
Angry against evil." (Job:26-33)

Dear FRiends...please keep me in your prayers...my CT scan results today showed 2 areas of activity in my abdominal cavity...so it is back to weekly chemo for a while.
Please pray that the Lord shows me how to take time away from home to have the necessary pre chemo blood tests and post chemo injections when I have to be in the house to take care of my 89 year old mother who cannot be left alone. I now have a health aide one day a week for chemo and appointments but having her 3 days a week is not an option. My husband travels alot and we have no family or friends in this area. I pray for a solution.
Prayers, FRiend.
I will pray for you, too.
many thanks
I need all the prayers anyone can spare!
Bless your heart! I'll light another candle for you. Surely God has a solution that you can't see right now. I'm sure of it! Keep the faith and do what you need to do to take care of yourself.

thank you so very much
