Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.
Psalm 127:1>
At this time, when feelings run high, the world seems crazy, and anger seems to be the one thing the peoples of the world have in common, I invite you, my fellow FReepers, to join me in prayers and meditation for guidance, God's help and for our fellow man, for America, our troops, and all our own needs.
Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Fathers throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief
And oft escaped the tempters snare
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!
William Bradbury
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth should change,
though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble with its tumult.
Psalm 46: 1-3

I got goosebumps in that reading. What Glory is in there! Thank You, Lord and Giver, Distributer of Gifts and Father of the Children, for our Knitting's great gift of song. You are magnified, shed abroad, glorified, seen, heard, in her tellings. Thank You that this is so in Jesus Christ, in Whom she lives and moves and has her being, amen.
I just love how He, the Living God, speaks the same word to all of us His Children simultaneously, even while it remains very personal! If you have the time, or any interest, go read my morning meditations which I posted to my homepage (before reading any of my pings on FR!) I even thought of pinging you when I pinged others to it on another thread, but - silly me! - opted not to. I see now it is perfectly appropriate to invite you to peruse my thoughts: you already have them!
Those few words summarize the best path to follow, every day.
Thank you very much.
Amen, bperiwinkle7!
Amen, Knitting A Conundrum.
Joh 10:9 I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.
......
Joh 10:16 And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.
........
Eze 34:12 As a shepherd seeks out his flock when he is among his sheep that have been scattered, so will I seek out my sheep, and I will rescue them from all places where they have been scattered on a day of clouds and thick darkness.
Eze 34:13 And I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries, and will bring them into their own land. And I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, by the ravines, and in all the inhabited places of the country.
Eze 34:14 I will feed them with good pasture, and on the mountain heights of Israel shall be their grazing land. There they shall lie down in good grazing land, and on rich pasture they shall feed on the mountains of Israel.
Eze 34:15 I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I myself will make them lie down, declares the Lord GOD.
Precious Saviour, Good and True Shepherd of the sheep, we will follow you.
I know you are watching us so we don't stray, and lead us into that Kingdom and Pasture which delight is unmatched by anything on earth.
I know you will provide all your lambs with what they need.
You will keep us calm and ours fear quiet.
You guard us from all harm.
Let the comfort of your Presence and the Lovely sound of your Singing over us be our great Joy today.
Thank you Jesus.

The God of love my Shepherd is,
And He that doth me feed;
While He is mine and I am His,
What can I want or need?
He leads me to the tender grass,
Where I both feed and rest;
Then to the streams that gently pass:
In both I have the best.
Or if I stray, He doth convert,
And bring my mind in frame,
And all this not for my desert,
But for His holy Name.
Yea, in deaths shady black abode
Well may I walk, not fear;
For Thou art with me, and Thy rod
To guard, Thy staff to bear.
Surely Thy sweet and wondrous love
Shall measure all my days;
And as it never shall remove
So neither shall my praise.
Abba, Father, hear me call You --
What a gift given by Your Son,
To call You, O most holy One,
And know You are my parent, too.
You, who breathed upon the water
At the dawning of all things,
You, the source from which all springs,
Let me call you Abba, Father.
Let Your name be ever holy
In our hearts and in our minds,
Yours the love that heals and finds
Place to care for weak and lowly.
Abba, Father, hear my prayer,
Shape me in Your loving hand,
Lover of my soul, I stand
Before You thankful for Your care.
Grateful, let my song arise,
Abba, Father, for your love
That lets my heart soar above --
Keep me ever in Your eyes.

Interestingly enough, I've had a great desire to read again Ezekiel, from which book you quote. One of my Bibles has been open to that prophet for 2 days now while the Lord had to show me other things first, from Psalms and elsewhere. I think today is the day I can begin!
Teach Me
How do we walk, O Lord, when we see the darkness falling?
How do we stand, O Lord, when the winds are blowing long?
How do we pray, O Lord, when shouts are growing louder?
How do we love, O Lord, when the evil seems so strong?
Let me recall that night You prayed there in the garden,
All alone with grief, of knowing what would be,
How heavy was the weight of sin upon your shoulders,
How your heart longed to leave, but you chose to set us free.
You let them take you there, you chose to walk the darkness,
You let them take you there, and let the Father be your light
You let Him guide your steps, in pain and blood and sorrow,
You stepped out in the dark, and let the Father be your sight.
O teach me Lord, to trust, when darkness is around me,
O help me walk in faith when I cannot see my way,
O let me know that You will guide me where You want me
O help me trust You, Lord, to lead me into day.
O let me remember, Lord, how you stood there next to Pilate,
Marked there with blood and dirt, a crown of twisted thorn,
Marked with the harsh whip's stripes you bore to heal the broken,
Prepared to bear your cross, our salvation being born.
You let them mock you there, as you listened to their howlings,
You let them call you fool to bring us through Death's night.
You took their blows and words, an offering to the Father,
In grief and pain and blood, you brought the world to light.
O teach me Lord, to give when others seek to stop me,
O help me stand in faith when they try to block my way,
O let me know that You will guide me where You want me
O help me trust You, Lord, to lead me into day.
Let me remember how they nailed you to the crossbeam,
And raised your body up between the earth and sky
And then you looked at those who chose to take your life there,
And prayed forgiveness on the ones who made you die.
You let them take your life, you gave it to the Father,
A sacrifice in love, to open up the way
No cursing passed your lips as your blood dripped out in offering,
But words of blessing there were what you had to say.
O teach me Lord your words when others try to harm me,
O help me stand in faith and remember how to pray,
O let me know that You will guide me where You want me
O help me trust You, Lord, to lead me into day.
You were the sacrifice that opened wide God's mercy,
The weight of sin you bore to free us from our plight
Emmanuel, you came, Creator to creation
And went down into death to lead us into light.
The face of love is yours, no other is as perfect,
You put your hand in ours to show us how to be,
And if we take your hand, you will guide us to tomorrow,
Refined, transformed and white, in loving purity.
O teach me Lord, to love, when loving is not easy,
O help me stand in faith when death draws near to stay,
O let me know that You will guide me where You want me
O help me trust You, Lord, to lead me into day.

Thank you for the link, ((((Rte66))))
I was greatly edified in praying through this great work of art, your prayer. It helped me as I read to be going with you into the Answer, which is always Jesus, closer and closer with each line, like footsteps carrying me, until His Glory like brilliant sunlight was everything before my eyes. Such are the Songs of the Bride of Christ, Amen.
This Hymn by our Brother Blessed my Soul this Morning:
LONGING TO BE WITH CHRIST by William Cowper
To Jesus, the crown of my hope,
My soul is in haste to be gone;
O bear me, ye cherubim, up,
And waft me away to His throne!
My Saviour, whom absent I love,
Whom, not having seen I adore;
Whose name is exalted above
All glory, dominion, and power;
Dissolve thou these bonds that detain
My soul from her portion in thee.
Ah! strike off this adamant chain,
And make me eternally free.
When that happy era begins,
When arrayed in Thy glories I shine,
Nor grieve any more, by my sins,
The bosom on which I recline.
Oh then shall the veil be removed,
And round me Thy brightness be pour'd,
I shall meet Him whom absent I loved,
Shall see Him whom unseen I adored.
And then, never more shall the fears,
The trials, temptation, and woes,
Which darken this valley of tears,
Intrude on my blissful repose.
Or, if yet remember'd above,
Remembrance no sadness shall raise,
They will be but new signs of Thy love,
New themes for my wonder and praise.
Thus the strokes which from sin and from pain
Shall set me eternally free,
Will but strengthen and rivet the chain
Which binds me, my Saviour, to Thee.
Our Master, we Truly Long to See Thee, our Glorious God and King. So Wonderful You Are, our Faithful God of Grace. 'Your Lasting Love is Tenderly Caring for us.' (Is.54:8) You are our Magnificent Lord, Robed in Splendor and Light. Your Brightness Banishes our Darkness, and Lifts us Up to the Heights. We Worship You, O God of the Heavenly Hosts! Your Love is the Song of our Hearts.
We Love You, our Beautiful and Ever-Worthy God. In the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, be Glorified Forever, amen.
A More heartfelt Amen I could not give.
Amen, to the Love of God in Christ Jesus and the Fellowship of His Holy Spirit.
All your postings have blessed me so much, it would be hard to describe.
