email from Queen Hillary on election results
Posted on 11/08/2006 9:26:33 AM PST by Gopher Broke
Dear Friend,
I want to thank you for all the wonderful efforts you made to bring me and so many other Democrats to victory on Election Day. I am so grateful to the people of New York for their support and confidence. And I know this would not have been possible without the strong commitment of my supporters online.
Today I'm celebrating not just my victory, but victories for other Democrats in New York and all over the country. Americans chose a new direction for the nation when they elected a Democratic majority in the House and quite possibly the Senate, and now I'm looking forward to working with my colleagues in Congress to get those changes underway.
A big part of our victory in Congress came here in New York, where Mike Arcuri, Kirsten Gillibrand, and John Hall won seats currently held by Republicans. I am so excited that these seats in New York were such a crucial part of our victory in taking back the House, and so pleased that you did so much to support them.
In addition to winning back Congress, Democrats won big in state races in every region of the country, taking control of a majority of governors' mansions. In New York, we elected our first Democratic governor in 12 years!
In every region of the country, voters looked to Democrats for a new direction. I'm so proud of all the work that my friends and supporters did in the course of this election, and I am eager to get to work.
Sincerely,
Hillary Rodham Clinton

I never heard them define what new direction they were going to take before the election, so how can their victory be a mandate for that. This was nothing more than the GOP paying the price for being the democrat-lite party. This won't last, at least I hope not.

C'mon, take it easy on ol' Hillary. Their party is promising a 'new direction' and 'change'. That sounds good enough for me. /sarc
Too bad that the new direction is the same direction that party had afflicted on this country for 40 years.

I'm sure this email also went to Osama bin Laden, Kim Jong Il, Hugo Chavez, Sadr, Achmed-in-a-jihad, etc.

Everytime these gloating pricks slip up (which they will) they'd better be held to account just as much as the Republicans have been.
Bastards.

Fixed it.

It bothered me when I saw Hillary becoming more and more conservative in her positions. I knew she was up to something as she is brilliant and must have something in mind. Politically, it would seem like suicide, especially after what happened to Lieberman in CT. She could never win the primary.
Here is the likely scenario. The Democratic House will continue to badger and harass the Bush administration, thus hindering the effort of the war and Bush foreign policy. That is given. The Patriot Act will lose its impact.
The nightmare for Israel is already exploding. Bush has positioned himself with the Arabs while Hillary has positioned herself with Israel, in large part due to the large Jewish population she represents in NY.
With the foreign turmoil, and it is only a matter of time till we experience another domestic terror event, the emotional Democratic liberals will become fearful and cause the pendulum to swing back toward more conservative policies to protect them from harm. The same instant gratification short range thinking that causes them to want to run from the war will cause the emotional swing to fear. Guess who is there to save them? This will allow her to win the primary without causing her to look as liberal as she really is and appear more centrist mainstream for a general election. It hurts to see this happen, but it looks likely.
