Are we allowed to say it now? Can we drop the happy warrior schtick? In the past six years, we've seen the deficit explode like never before in the history of the country. A flaming bra-burner nominated to the Supreme Court, only to be replaced by a (hopefully) stealth conservative. The most inept State Department in the history of the United States. (Clinton's wasn't incompetent; they were flat-out fifth columnists.) 20 million new illegal aliens, and barely-contained glee that the election-day losses mean we can welcome another 50 million in.
And I hate to say this, but when we won the war in Iraq, I was praying for my friend who was an MP, fearing for his safety in the dangerous house-to-house searches. And then they never came. So I put joyful trust that the military didn't need to do such a dangerous task. Then came the insurgency. And bold optimism. And more violence. And more bold optimism. But, um, after 3,000 of America's finest dead, it becomes plainly apparent that Rummy and Bush simply didn't realize that disarming the terrorists was necessary.
So can we say it now?

To add to your comment, consider tonight that Menedez in New Jersey survived tonight despite his storied past of corruption and being under federal criminal probe now, but Dewine who was squeaky clean (forget about him being a moderate to see the point I'm making here) was turned out of office because as most pundits agree he was liked, but Ohio wanted to punish him for Gov. Bob Taft's sins (4 misdemeanors including not reporting sport's tickets). So the people of NJ rewarded corruption and the people of Ohio punished a guy who was clean because of someone else's corruption.
Tell me this country hasn't been totally brainwashed into irrationality by an agendized, massive propaganda machine known as the US news media. The fact they reward a corrupt senator and kill off a clean one tells me this country has slid into utter dysfunction.

When you are at war, death comes. It is the battle that is worth fighting that makes death heroic or vain.
We have lost more dead on islands in the Pacific in just hours. We lost 3,000 dead on 9/11. The numbers are not significant. The battle is significant. Did we win or did we lose? We lost on 9/11. We defeated the Baathists in Iraq and now we must defeat the arab/muslim enemy.
3,000 dead in Iraq is not significant. What is significant is our will to win. We cannot bring back the dead. We lose that many each year in the USA due to domestic violence. No one says anything.
But, in uniform, fighting for the USA - then it is an important statistic. Not the action or death is important, only the statistic.
We need warriors. This country needs the Warrior Spirit. We have lost that and we will pay mightly for it.
People like Echo Talon know what I am writing about. Hopefully, you can understand as well.

The only thing I learned from this election is we have we too many people in this country who don't have a clue. Reminds of the people of Nineveh, when Jonah (you remember him, the guy in the whale) said to God, why not destroy the city. Bush is a boob. It's obvious every time he steps before the camera. He's also stubborn and inflexible. And he didn't really take time to figure out just what was behind the terrorist attacks. He has damaged the country immensely.
The sad thing is that he's the biggest RINO president ever yet people continue to support him. Even after he has screwed them.
From here on out, I guess we are stuck in Iraq. We certainly cannot withdraw.
Bush was a fool to think that Chirac and Putin could be persuaded to support the war. We should have invaded the moment we had sufficient strength, before the global left organized, and before Turkish elections deprived us of our Northern front.
Once the Iraqi army dissolved into the shadows, we should've realized we were in for a hard-fought door-to-door campaign to disarm them. Instead, the Pentagon was worried about casualties in the short term, failing to consider the long-term casualty rate we have, and they were worried about "hearts and minds." Victory and subsequent peace wins hearts and minds.
Colin Powell was a complete disaster at the State Department, allowing it to continue to be dominated by One-Global-Society, anti-nationhood peaceniks. Now the rest of the world thinks they can sit back, and let the Islamofascists and North Koreans get nuclear weapons.
My platform?
IMMIGRATION: Lift EEOC regulations which prevent employers from questioning illegal immigrants' fraudulent documents. Enforce existing workplace laws, and increase penalties dramatically. Air-lift captured illegals to Mexico's SOUTHERN ports. Freeze H1-B visas, immigration lotteries, chain immigration, and assert the legal truth that the Constitution guarantees citizenship only to those born under US laws, not those born to illegal aliens.
ASSIMILATION: Withold federal funds from any organization which practices reverse discrimination, like the U of Michigan. Remove exemptions for English for citizenship. Conduct citizenship ceremonies in English only. Rescind Executive Order 13166, which in effect gives the United States 320 official languages. Use randomized test banks and beef up requirements for citizenship tests.
BUDGET: Submit balanced budget by 2008. Revoke new benefits for Medicare prescription plans. Prevent illegal aliens from receiving federal benefits. Slash funding to liberal special-interest groups, such as Planned Parenthood.
I understand his sentiment. The Dems and the media keep beating America over the head with the casualty rate despite the fact it's the lowest in world history when compared to similar conflicts. Nobody seems to care that Los Angeles alone has had nearly 3,000 murders in the same time period. It's important not to make light of our warriors' sacrifices but It's quite important to keep casualties in perspective.

My Rock River AR 15 M1 takes 30 round mag's and I already have 30 mags.....and many cases of rounds.
I sure hope some other folks get themselves ready.
