If Democrats Do Win Congress
November 7, 2006 | Lew Waters

Just a thought I had, but can you imagine the anti-war leftists if they succeed in giving Democrats control of the House and Democrat Charles Rangle, who would become head of the Ways and Means Committee, got his desire to reinstate the military draft?

They can whine in their BDU's while I'll be smiling in my "Don't Blame Me, I Voted Republican" T-Shirt."

Two years of Rat leadership could be the key to a Republican victory in 2008. I'm not referencing a "punative" measure against Republicans, I mean that the liberals will not be able to hold their poker faces any longer. They are ready to strike.

Now can we see daily polls as to rejection of THEIR policies?

I don't think so. I believe they will make it LOOK like they're trying to do so, while the votes go otherwise.

Do you mean to say that you think they will make it look like they are defunding the Iraq war, but not really doing it? Why would they do that, other than to obviously pander? If they say they're defunding the Iraq war, that's one thing but people will need to see that happening or it will come back to bite them.

I was disgusted a few hours ago when Santorum lost(I'm not from PA but he was really good and shame on PA for voting him out)

Rangle was still calling for a draft last week;

I think we should hold his feet to the fire and make sure he does push for it.

Maybe we should "flip" some Democrats; they would try the same to get the majority.

IF we went with Cheney would REALLY need a soft VP... (Rudy or
Liberman) If Liberman switched to (R) it would be possible for him to run as someones VP.

The radial wing will bray like donkeys, making it look like they're against the war, but the moderates will quietly vote against them. It's all about appearances.

That could happen. The Democrats who came to our house to campaign all swore they were pro-life, pro-NRA, pro-lower taxes, pro-Iraq war, pro-Republican, basically. How odd is that? ;-D

I think we should hold his feet to the fire and make sure he does push for it.

It would certainly make him unpopular, and I don't think it has a real chance of passing, but the danger is that there is an outside chance that it could which would present a number of problems, not the least of which is putting the need to train new draftees on an Army that can barely afford to maintain the troop strength it has, another situation we can thank Congress for.

Perception is indeed more important than reality.

That could happen.

I don't think they will flip, but it is true that many of the democrats picking up seats are conservative democrats. I think, initially, they'll be good boys and do what Master Pelosi tells them to, but look for more resistance by this time next year to extreme left policies like abortion on demand, non-enforcement of immigration laws, and cutting and running in Iraq.

The problem is that Republicans never want to fight in the dirt with the Dems. They prefer to bring pillows to a fist fight. Wait until tomorrow when the Reps congratulate their "esteemed colleagues from across the isle" with their victory. As long as Reps refer to Dems as their friends they will lose. Gentlemen in politics will always get the short end of the stick.

Unless the Reps start growing some backbone the same will happen in 2008 and conservatives will be disgusted and stay home. Al-Qaeda terrorists are probably hi-fiveing each other in the Middle East and here at home.

Political leaders and voters haven't learned a thing since 9/11. What a sad, sad day for my beloved country.

Good points for discussion--

But we ALL can act and STILL be "Pro-Active"- rather than what the Libbies do all the time which is be ONLY
" RE-ACTIVE " to things!

Don't forget too- "IF" thge Dems get SOME seats ( Look at JOE who won Conn!!) SOME things LIKE supporting the War
will STILL STAY THE SAME!!

Remember!: TWICE! we took "votes" to "Pull-Out"--and WHAT did the dems do?

NOTHING!--not ONLY cause of THIS Election!

But remember--there is 08'! They STILL have to look at!

And do you think THEY want to be remembered in 2008 Political Campaign ads as being presented by us as
"...here's the PARTY who- when getting a few seats in 06'- went IMMEDIATELY FOR WITHDRAWING OUR TROOPS!!!!!"

I think not--cause they KNOW we WILL BE ATTACKED before now and 08'!

And ANY "Radical" move or ANY MOVE they'd make right away WILL be remembered! and THEN ROVE will make sure the Public REMEMBERS That,"...YOU , American un-decided and Moderates, were the ONES to "Vote the dems seats in 06'"!!!":
