We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!!
Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
Today is it. Make the DemoncRATS crawl back in their hole.
Vote. People died so you can have this right; exercise the franchise that is your birthright.
And, above all, if you do not vote, don't get angry when I tell you to shut up if you didn't vote. You don't vote, you accept the outcome. If you want to whine, you have to express your opinion at the ballot box.
Other things I don't want to hear:
** My vote wasn't counted--how do you know, it's a secret ballot.
** My vote was counted incorrectly--how do you know, it's a secret ballot.
** My vote was wrong because my ballot was handled incorrectly--how do you know, it was a secret ballot.
** I want a receipt that shows how I voted--how can you tie it back to your ballot, it was a secret ballot.
So...
Let's get on with the Great American Experimnet!
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairmam.
Locally..we held our own. Statewise..was not a big surprise other than the State Comptroller. I thought for sure because of the wife being trucked all over on state $$ would have been a problem.
Jut heard F&F just say that one of Pelosi's first acts will be to get rid of the ban on federal funding of embryonic stem cell research.
I'm back at the hotel after the CNN blogger bash, and I'd like to wrap up with a few final thoughts. I don't think anyone can honestly look at the results tonight and say that we saw anything less than a trip to the woodshed for the Republicans. We may hold the Senate by the barest of margins, but the House is gone in a substantial manner. Some will make comparisons between this six-year election and those past (1986, 1974, 1958) and claim a moral victory in containing the losses, but that simply won't fly.
This is a big loss, and it will hurt the GOP and the Bush administration. Even if we do hold the Senate, we will have to find compromise candidates for the federal bench, and also look forward to more taxes and regulation. Free trade is a goner. The prosecution of the war on terror will get limited by a probable repeal of the Patriot Act, or at least an attempt to do so, and I'm very sure the Democrats will move to defund the operations in Iraq by a date certain in order to force a "phased redeployment".
And that's not even counting the myriad investigations that Democrats will launch against the Bush administration. Republicans will keep it from getting out of hand, but the Democrats will want to build enough damaging allegations to win again in 2008.
However, in terms of policy at least, the American people have spoken. The majority endorsed these views, and now we have to see them play out. We can certainly criticize it -- and we will -- but we have to respect the voice of the American electorate. They wanted a different direction, and now they have to experience its consequences.
Well, I need to go coach the Spellbowl Team and so I had best get in the shower. I will check in later this morning.
Pelosi will have to get those initiatives to pass not only the House but the Senate as well. I do hope Bush can find his veto pen...
Frist for president, anyone?
I don't know. I have not done my own tally. I cannot keep track of the count. Lieberman was elected as an Independent. I guess he can switch parties if he wishes like Senator Shelby did.
That is how I see it, they will NOT impeach the president, they will however have unending investigations. If they are held in private session, you will see it on the front page of the NYT's the next day. This will continue until November of 2008.
Thank you, no.
I assume Diana Irey didn't unseat Murtha either?
Today I feel like giving up....BUT I WON'T.
I WON'T!!
Back to practicing medicine for Frist.
Yes, Irey lost huge to Murtha.
They will continue to tie Bush and Cheney up so as to render them ineffective in dealing with Iran and NK. The RATS have already done that to a large extent.
The the help of a substantial number of Republicans.
Not if it's attached to funding the war in Iraq.
all the more upsetting, Murtha will now be in charge of funding of the war.
No point giving up Guen. We're freepers, we'll be back.
:^)
Ouch!
FOX will have the gloating goats on as much as the others.
I'm sick to here of Shepherd Smith's leering face.....I'm sick of Kristol....I'm sick of them all....!!
Fox was no help to us!
A stiff-upper-lip good morning to all.
Thanks for the confirm on Murtha. Pennsylvania kept a traitor in office.
God save me from EVER having to live in such a place as that or Chicago or any RAT infested hole ever again.
