We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!!
Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
Today is it. Make the DemoncRATS crawl back in their hole.
Vote. People died so you can have this right; exercise the franchise that is your birthright.
And, above all, if you do not vote, don't get angry when I tell you to shut up if you didn't vote. You don't vote, you accept the outcome. If you want to whine, you have to express your opinion at the ballot box.
Other things I don't want to hear:
** My vote wasn't counted--how do you know, it's a secret ballot.
** My vote was counted incorrectly--how do you know, it's a secret ballot.
** My vote was wrong because my ballot was handled incorrectly--how do you know, it was a secret ballot.
** I want a receipt that shows how I voted--how can you tie it back to your ballot, it was a secret ballot.
So...
Let's get on with the Great American Experimnet!
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairmam.
I've never been post 100 before.
(Bows and smiles, somewhat evilly)
You can tell I am REALLY sick of politics when I start cooking. I am known for my dislike of cooking...however, I CAN cook and it will keep me distracted and please my husband. Also, we are trying to diet and I need to make him a dinner high in nutrition but low in calories and fat, and this will do it (the olive oil is neglegible, as is the cheese).
I probably won't check in till after Emeril, if then. I am sick to death of democrats, weenie hand-wringing Republican pundits, and people who have caused this problem by their refusal to report things accurately.
In fact, this election has made me decide that I will be volunteering at Church more. I need to feel that I am accomplishing something, and while I will always retain an inteest in politics, I need to do more volunteer work and less watching of Fox News.
I volunteered to help at the Our Lady of Guadalupe mass in December. I figure it is probably more than half Mexican parishioners, but I can do basic stuff like help kids get in costume, and it is time I did something constructive.
I am also continuing my volunteer work at my grandson's school after the Spellbowl. The school has very few parent volunteers because most parents are both working. I can help with Science Fair, read stories, whatever. I like helping out.
Thank you. It's hard not to have fun with my best friend. ;-)
Good news. I agree with you about Swann and Blackwell.
Good for you. Your bp will drop.
Give your daughter some time. As she gets a little older her eyes will open and she'll realize everything you told her is correct.
CONGRATULATONS!!!!! Each year they get more and more important and may God continue blessing this wonderful relationship
I thought it was noon time
Personally .. I'm avoiding most of the news till later tonight
Hi all: I went to the Clinic around 0630. It was very stormy - heavy rain falling and big wind gusts. I actually got wet running just 15' from my car to the door. I had planned on my regular Tuesday beauty shop for the residents and my hours at the Clinic. Plans were changed when the river began to rise AT LOW TIDE. I knew I couldn't be on the other side of the river this afternoon - I wouldn't have been able to get home to Andy and Charlie until evening. So, I came home at about 0900. Water was across Hwy 53 but I got home fine.
It is still raining, the river is still rising - high tide will be in about an hour. It isn't as bad here as it was in the l996 flood. That year, the river got into the Johnston's home across the river from me. Unless there is a huge surge, it appears their home is safe. Tillamook, on the other hand, is worse than 1996. Many homes and businesses under water. I just watched the national news and saw video of Tillamook and our little town of Nehalem.
I just heard on the scanner that HWY 101 is closed in Nehalem until the water recedes this evening. Even the detour route around downtown is flooded. Laurie is on the other side of the closure from me.
Some oddities? Well, there are salmon swimming in the streets and, some guys with nets have hauled some in :-) Salmon are swimming in the pasture next to the Co-op and people are talking pictures. The Co-op is closed because the river rose high enough to flood the inside of the store. In 1996, there was so much damage in the store that it was closed for almost 3 months.
One good news item, Hwy 53's land slide has been cleared and so that one road is open to Portland. But, since Hwy 101 is closed N and S of us, not many people will be able to take advantage of it being open.
I was already wet when I got the car in the garage so I got out the ladder and cleaned the gutters. Not the ones on the two story side of the house because I promised Larry I would NEVER get on the roof. But I didn't make any promises about getting on a ladder :-) I held my umbrella in my left hand and swept leaves and debris out with my right hand. Once the wind turned my umbrella inside out and I popped it back. But, when it dries, I am going to have to do some repair work on a couple of the splines. I was super wet and cold when I got back in the house so I built a fire and then stood in a hot shower until I was thoroughly warm again.
Andy and Charlie are most pleased to have me home. I like to think it has nothing to do with the fact I feed them, build fires for them and provide a warm lap for them, but rather that they just LOVE me 'cause I'm me :-)
All through this storm, our electricity has stayed on. All the summertime tree cutting and branch removal is paying off. THANK YOU Tillamook Public Utility District!!!! Actually, considering the fact we have had 26" of rain since Friday morning, we are doing fairly well in our little community....it could be a lot worse than it is.
I am going to have some of my homemade hamburger soup for my dinner tonight.....it is a perfect soup day.
And, that is our official weather report from the beautiful North Coast of Oregon....love and hugs, ABC
Perfect! Thank you, Chair.
I just want this handy (and I've saved it now) so the first person in our local paper to write that the Republicans tried dirty tricks, I can point to that memo.
He sure sounded positive.
Thank you so much! We feel pretty lucky, given what some people face, and know that God is an important part of why our relationship works. And like lysie, I am married to my best friend.
Good afternoon, Toby. My best wishes for you and your family.
Congratulations.. good to hear about strong relationships.
Molly, The Democrats can't win by talking about what they really represent and so most Americans who are angry with Republicans for a variety of reasons just don't know what they're getting into voting for the Rats. But they just might be about to find out.
A belated congratulations, lysie, to you and Greg! There is nothing better than a solid and loving marriage.
Cold and wet is soup weather for sure, bevlar! Miss Marple's menu sounds super, but I'm going for comfort food...potato, cheese, and broccoli soup.
Toby, if you don't stop mowing down those fence posts, you will soon be known as The Exterminator!
Yes, I heard him on Rush. His words seem to flow smoothly. I take that as sincere and not trying to hide gloom.
Happy anniversary, lysie! We had our 25th last year and it was one of the best night of my life. It's pretty special to reach that milestone.
Yes, I heard about Gov. Sanford, Carolinamom. Last night there was some report that he had to cancel some campaign appearances because studio lights burned his eyes (weird though that sounds) and then today he had to go back to vote after first forgetting to take his voter ID. LOL
Wish every state required a voter identification card.
I've made homemade chicken soup with everything but the kitchen sink in it and will serve with hot rolls and salad. It will be easy to heat up and serve my husband when he gets home from poll managing. He got up at 5:00 a.m. and will probably be home around 8:30 or so and I know he'll be hungry.
