While the San Diego Natural History Museum will host the much-touted Dead Sea Scrolls next summer, just down the Prado will be a companion exhibit at the Museum of Man.
The Museum of Man is partnering with the National Geographic Society to present a display of pre-biblical archaeology from Israel.
Called "Journey to the Copper Age," it will consist of artifacts never before seen outside of Israel, the museum says.
The exhibit is based on a National Geographic expedition led by San Diego archeologist Thomas Levy, a professor at the University of California San Diego.
Levy assembled a group of international scientists to ride donkeys across the deserts of Jordan and Israel to reconstruct an ancient trade route. They examined mining and ore-smelting methods first used more than 6,000 years ago.
The exhibit will address the search for the Dead Sea Scrolls, the birth of regional politics, innovations in agro-technology, the fiber revolution, early temples and cemeteries and the emergence of social inequality, museum officials said.
The Israel exhibit will run from June through January. Advance tickets go on sale Nov. 15.

They must be talking about the Medium-Old Globe Theater 'cause the OLD-Old Globe Theater is beyond needing a roof. Well, maybe they want to re-pave the roads which run over the site?
