He will continue to be my friend, even if the worst allegations prove accurate.

It's good to hear Dr. Dobson make this statement.

Another public cleansing--haven't had one since Jim Bakker and the PTL scandal.

It won't have much influence on my vote.

I a member of the Church of Christ, and attend regularly.
I've never heard of Ted Haggard - at least not enough to make a groove in my memory banks. So what he did or didn't do might make me feel sad for him, but sure isn't going to make a difference in how I vote.

Go, Sonny Perdue!

The only solution to this horrible travesty is for Dobson and other Evangelicals to get on the pulpit this Sunday and tell the faithful to vote Republican this Tuesday.

(I see this story as and attempt to shake the faith before Nov. 7th)

Who is this Haggard guy??? Was he Dobson's right hand man??? Never heard of him before today.

BTW, on a personal note my father in law, a minister--was caught with his pants down-he got booted from his Church. A personal and professional tragedy, but life goes on. I like Dobson's response.

Why did Dobson even COMMENT ON IT..?! I can't believe such a smart guy would let himself get roped into this.

It's less than a week b4 the elections, for crying out loud...

Ted Haggard had acknowledged some "indiscretions"

"Indiscretions" isn't the word that comes to mind.

We are all human, with human weaknesses, temptations and frailties. I hope that Haggard can draw on his faith and family to set his life back on a course to God.

The only one of them that has ever been worth the powder it would take to blow his nose is Billy Graham. There has never been any hint of scandal attached to him or his name. All the others are just 'wannabees.'

For any Louisiana folks reading this thread. There is an interesting Louisiana connection. Before he moved to Colorado he pastored Bethany Baptist Church in Baker. Now Bethany Prayer Center. I didnt realize that.

I am curious about that to see if Tony Perkins knew him during that time

Dobson should've just kept his mouth shut. This guy was a nobody and the press attention was obvious manipulation of the voters. It wasn't at all newsworthy until a notable like James Dobson opened his big mouth, and now they have an excuse to make a big deal out of nothing just because he's stepped into it.

The man is a sinner, hopefully a repentent sinner, and a hypocrite. How this would affect anyone's vote in this election is beyond me.

Indiscretions?

Is that what they're calling sex with a male prostitute and methamphetamine abuse nowadays?

How about that good old three-letter word:

SIN

Anyone who thinks Christians are perfect is wrong. We are forgiven but the temptations are still there. I have always believed that the more you do in service to Christ, the more temptations you are faced with. I can think of several prominent Christians who have fallen because of their sins.

My parents taught my sisters and I that we have to forgive people of their sins if we want to be forgiven of our own sins. When I talked to my mother this morning, she reminded me again that we have to forgive him. People need to minister to him and try to get him out of his sin, so he doesn't fall completely away from Christ. It is my prayer that people don't throw him to the wolves, and that they will go to him in the love of Christ and minister to him. I feel sorry for his family. They all need our prayer. I hope people will minister to his wife and kids too.
