Here's the deal with pictures:
I'm trying to hook up a DVD player to my little t.v.
That's it. I followed the directions and nothing is happening.
There are yellow, white and red cords and I put them in the holes and nothing happens. Two hours and I still get nothing. FReeper help needed...please.
That's what I was going to say. Perhaps hooking up the DVD player to a different TV might be a good way to check if it's a faulty DVD signal.
The hookups look good to me as well.
The darn TV should pop into Video 1 when she turns on the DVD player. She says she had it hooked up to something else and it worked fine. But yes... DVD players can go bad quickly. I've had a few that worked for only a couple of hours and had to be returned because they stopped working.
I've been skimming manuals. If works good on another set then it should work on this T.V. just fine. Not all T.V. pop into Vid 1 automatically, that is why I was trying to find out what model of Sony it was.
The TV is a Toshiba (see remote in picture) - Toshiba stamped on bottom.
...sorry
Just do what I did. Plug and pray.
If Vid 1 doesn't work try moving the cords to Vid 2.
I think she has given up for the night, so I am also going to hang it up :-)
We have a three year old Sony and ours never pops right into a video mode. We have to press the tv/video button on the front of the tv to either video 1, video 2 or video 3.
You totally crack me up. I knew you'd chime in with a good one.
Smash it, insure it, mail it, file a claim. :-)
Thanks for all your help last night and I now have my DVD working. I pressed the TV/Video button on my tv remote and it worked :)
Want to know what I'm watching until the Packer game starts?
"...you think I'm funny. I make you laugh. You think I'm a clown."
Let us know how it's going, please?
Undoubtedly, a few of us are unable to sleep until we know if the advise worked.
I'll probably be starting my own thread in a few weeks about a DVD/VCR recorder combo.
Plus, I get an oppertunity to tag this thread with something I'll remember when I need it.
We must have woke up at the same time.
Glad it worked. Now go and waste some time (Wait until you learn how to get surroundsound installed).
Huh? Are you suggesting I'm wasting my time watching a movie?
Nothing wrong with that. I have two TVs using 2 Xboxes side by side.
I'm a master of time wasting.
I'll blow a whole day watching my Battlestar Galactica DVDs.
Nice Rack!
