If James could have made a 1st down or two this game would have been different. Every time the Pats played the Colts they managed to shut his overhyped U Miami ass then go to work on his QB. Stuffed him on the goal line a couple of times on a great stand at the end of one game back in 2003. He was good for laying the ball on the ground.

Green is a dope though...

Someone asked him a question about the Bears and they referenced a preseason game. He started yelling that the Bears are who they thought they would be and then started yelling Bullsh!t over and over again. Beat on the podium then walked off.

Usually the home team has a home-team advantage. I suppose, as long as the Bidwells retain ownership, the negative culture there will continue. These fans have been waiting a HELL of a lot longer than you have for something big - like tonight would have been.

And I was expecting the Bears to get embarrassed on national television... Oh well. At least the Tigers made it to the World Series.

It's a limited shift from Sunday afternoon to Sunday night. Unfortunately, it starts on Week 10, the week after the Miami@Chicago game.

Well, IMHO nothing will pass the Yankees to the Red Sox, U. of Houston's Phil Slamma Jamma to NC State, and the Oilers at Buffalo. But this was definitely up there.

Dennis Green must have pictures of the Bidwills in compromising positions ... can you imagine the number of assistant coaches and offensive coaches who were throwing things at the TV screen tonight? The term "Augean stables" comes to mind ...

Wow...Edgerrin James had 36 carries for 56 total yards. SportsCenter just said that no player has ever had that few yards on that many carries.

I have a bias against Denny Green (in case you haven't figured that out).

The Oilers/Bills game probably should be 1A, and this should be 1B.

And for the person who asked what James' YPC was, it was 1.53 (36 carries, 55 yards).

Egghead James had 36 carries for 55 yards. ESPN reporting that no rusher in NFL history had more rushes for fewer yards.

And yet Denny Green turned to him on 2nd and 3rd down for the 35th and 36th time. Never learned.

They spoke 56 yards, the graphic on the screen had 55.

The tiebreaker, NFL.com's GameCenter, has 55.

I can't find it now, but during my time in Minnesota there was a famous photo circulated around the Twin Cities.

It was a picture of a message someone had written in the snow outside of the Vikings' training camp in Eden Prairie.

It read:

"FIRE DENNY GREEN'S FAT ASS".

First one to post it to this thread wins a prize! ;-)

Cheers!

True, but thanks to FReepers that didn't miss it (disclosure, I missed it), you'll know what the bleep was.

ESPN says that this is the first time in the history of pro or college football that a team has come back from 20 points down to win without an offensive touchdown.

Top 10 choke of all time?

Right up there with the Buffalo - Houston playoff game in 1993, or the Buffalo - Indianapolis game in 1997...

Cheers!

fire him--he needs to go. Conservative playcalling led to one of the worst collapses ever.

Take that conservative bashing over to DU! ;-)

Yes, I'm an Arizonan...and I moved from Minnesota, where Denny Green came from.

Coincidence?

Cheers!
