Fake boobs are a 'turn-off' for men

London, Oct. 12: Women who are planning to undergo a breast enhancement surgery should think twice before going ahead with it, for a new survey conducted in the UK has found that men prefer women more attractive when natural.

The poll for More magazine found that 85 percent of men aged 18 to 34 said that they hated plastic surgery and found it a "complete turn-off" in women.

The survey, which polled 1,600 men across the UK, found that a further 15 percent claimed that they wouldn't even notice women's cosmetic surgery.

"Women would be better off spending their money on new dress and shoes rather than fake breasts," Ananova.com quoted a spokeswoman for More magazine, as saying.

"They look at false cleavages but it is clear that it is a big turn off both sexually and in terms of forming a relationship. It seems as though women may have misjudged a lot of blokes," she added. (ANI)

I've gotta admit I've had a thing for Teri Hatcher ever since 'Lois and Clark' was on TV, but I'd rather watch the Food Network than 'Desperate Housewives'.

Well, of course, but imagine what it means to have shallow L.A.-types inspecting whether breasts are real or not. This says what about the cultural value placed on fake boobs?

I recall a story about Ben Affleck saying to John Kerry's daughter, "wow, are those real?" What's she supposed to say, "No, Dr. Rey had them on sale last month so I took two."

I had an ex-girl friend that had 'em and while they looked almost natural, they were completely offputting as to, er, "snuggling."

Also, after a while I noticed that I had less respect for this woman because of the insecurity that drove her to have such an operation.

She was quite lovely in the natural but if she wanted to improve herself physically, she could have gone to the gym more frequently. Personally, I prefer the "pink" complexion from exercise more than the bulge of a gel-pac.

True, but this is the vast, vast minority of surgeries. Many are even on young girls who are at their physical peak, so to speak, and that is really sad.

Why didn't he just go all the way and buy a life-sized Barbie doll?

Wow, $3,000 for a boob job. Prices sure have come down. Now that the op is available to anyone with a basic MasterCard, sure it will fall out of favor like any other fad that makes it way from hip to mainstream.

The overall tone of the article implies "Lawn Art" isn't desirable at all. But we all know the difference between a daily rental and a keeper. ;-)

And yet, this is the same mentality that worships 30 year old woman that strive to look like 12 year old boys.

Sounds good, but I don't believe it.

I find women, not plastic, attractive. Most of the men I know do, too.

Implants are good for women that have had mastectomies, but I can't find much else good to say about them.

Personally, I prefer the natural thing. The wife of one of my ex-bosses was a naturally beautiful woman even though she was a little light on the chest(not much, I'd estimate she was a 34B). One day, one of her friends decided to get a boob enhancement for no other purpose than landing a sugar daddy. My boss' wife said she thought she should get one, too. The boss, who opposed it, threatened to divorce her, which nearly clinched it(they were on very rocky ground before this) until I convinced her that she was sexy enough without a pair grapefruit in her chest.

Oh, how insightful you are. Indeed, it is not just the problem of the gel packs themselves, but the mentality that treats one's looks, one's sexuality, one's romance, one's relationships as an accessory, rather than as an integral expression of who you are inside.

Your wife's breasts aren't destroyed! They are full of the life and love she's given you and her children.

My hubby has made similar remarks.

I can believe it's not an uncommon viewpoint. Man might like looking at a woman standing up still who is augmentedly busty, but if she gets into positions or does actions that show off the fact that they are augmented, it just doesn't look right to him...and it turns him off.

Around my hubby, a girl would do a lot better shoving what she has up in a well boned bustier...that Marie Antoinette shelf effect has a really positive affect on him....wonder if that's one of the reasons why he likes American Rev War reenacting?

I don't consider myself a boob man anyway, I am more of a booty lover. If my wife or girlfriend wanted a boob job, I would tell her make sure she's doing it for herself and that I would support any decision she should would make.

You'd be suprised. For this 28 year old single guy, fake boobs would be an almost certain deal-breaker with any woman I meet. If I wanted water balloons, I could stop by Walmart after work.

They do a lot of things that have nothing to do with men. Their obsession with shoes for instance.

Do not mock what you can't understand. ;o)

Believe it. I've always been more attracted by proportion. Fake breasts always look out of proportion to me. I'm not claiming that huge breasts don't get a first glance from me, but rarely do they get a second glance.

When I got married, it was for brains and character, which add beauty to any figure.

Ahhh...Memories..or is that mammaries...(sorry..couldn't resist)...Anyway...the first pair of fake ones I ever touched, I made a comment like... Gawd those are nice!...To which she replied..."They ought to be....cost me about $500 apiece!"....Somehow they weren't the same after that....

What does this have to do with politics?? ;)

Politics before sex? In a crazy world like that, we'd be more concerned about North Koreas' predatory intentions than Mark Foleys'.

But, there is some diplomatic spin in the breast discussion, too. A female friend once mentioned something to the effect that men say they prefer real breasts to fake, but what they mean is that they prefer large real breasts to large fake breasts. Her conclusion of that reasoning is that men still prefer "medium-to-large and fake" over "flat-to-small and real".

She said the "men prefer real" wording would be fine, in an world where all women have large breasts, but felt it basically irrelevant to her condition. ;-)
