It says in the article 1/3 of all Linux servers are used in supercomputers, such as the ones used to design and test nuclear weapons. You feel technology of that caliber should be given away for free to anyone who wants it?

Sort of. Although in the Linux analogy it is requiring that the recipe be free and enforcing that right through contractual and other intellectual property enforcement. This seems to be protective capitalism, unless the whole Intellectual Property regime is communistic.

Actually it's should be an easy decision, even for you. CDE uses a lot less resources, and on a server or a computational workstation a GUI is only a resource hog. At least that's what you anti-M$ fanatics are always claiming, what, doesn't apply now? Plus it doesn't come from that radical leftist Stallman or from overseas, so unless you prefer Stallman's cloneware I don't see what your problem is. For high performance government work it's far superior.
