You hear that?
That's the sound of the world's smallest violin, playing just for NY Yank-off fans!

'The Boss' knows what accountability is all about. Guess that's why he'd never make a good politician.

I don't believe that. If it was my team, I'd stick with Torre. (but maybe they should bring back Joe Girardi. It was after he left they had this problem.)

Wow! Five posts within 2 seconds.

Yeah, great fans. I read that less than a dozen fans showed up at the stadium when their buses got back tonight. Class. /s

That's because most Yankee fans are transplants and trendites who love the boys in pinstripes when they win, but avoid them like the plague when they lose.
The Yankees are learning the same lesson they did against the LA Dodgers in the 1960s: Good pitching ALWAYS beats good hitting.

his numbers in NY don't seem to be a drastic drop off. well, not one that can't be explained by being 7 or 8 years older now than he was then.

The dude telling Steinbrenner he's #1 has weird, discolored fingers. What's up with that?

Joe Girardi couldn't even bring his team to .500. Most OVERRATED manager in baseball.

No trade clause in his contract.

I've got to hand it to you.
You are doing a great job posting the breaking news stories.

A lot of that going on in Boston this year, I can tell you that (Sox fan here). Man what a painful second half of the season that was. But the salve that helps an awful lot was applied when the Tigers (the TIGERS!) spanked the MFY's. I LOVE IT!

Throwing in one farm-grown player and writing big checks doesn't make a team. The Boss thinks he's getting the players' numbers from two seasons prior, then lets the GM and Manager take the fall.
(Still, I'd take either job. FReepmail me, Boss!)

I think he would prefer to go someplace else - the fans don't like him anymore, and I don't think his team-mates are too fond of him.
To: nickcarraway
Crazy as it sounds, I think the Yankess (and Torre) miss Don Zimmer.
To: Clemenza
He wasn't the manage on the Yankees, he was the catcher.
To: Lunatic Fringe
ARod is paid an astronomical amount of money and doesn't deliver, and they fire the Manager. Go figure.
