Ok Seriously.
I've never been a fan of the guy, but wow did Rogers look sharp tonight. 7 2/3, 0 runs, 8K. He really had something to prove tonight and did he ever.
A-Fraud AKA Mr March, went 0-3 and is batting .125 for the series.
Watching the Yankees lose NEVER GETS OLD!
And of course, Bob Gibson pitched games 1, 4, and 7, winning two of them; and Mickey Lolich pitched 3 games (2, 5, and 7?), winning all of them.
Don't get me started reminiscing...I'll be up all night.
Cheers!
I agree, since I'm somewhat a baseball junkie. (Even though my team, the 2006 National League champs didn't make it in this year...dang!)
You did not read through my post. I am a Met fan. actually. But traders at TradeSports.com have bought up the A's "stock" higher than the Mets or Tigers.
Siersly?
I prefer "Damned Yankees". As a Red Sox fan, it's always great to see them lose. But in the postseason, as once again the heavy favorite, if they pull another el-foldo, it will be especially sweet as the Curse of Hillary continues...
Say what? Only if no other team amasses a total of 26 titles in the next 87 years. Even if what you wrote was true, it would sure piss off Yanks fans who would be in their triple-digits before they won it all again. They would be like the Chicago Cubs fans are now. That's not exactly a yardstick, that's more like one of those 6" plastic rulers they hand out in kindergarten.
Past glory doesn't mean jack if you have never experienced it in your lifetime. Take it from a lifelong San Francisco Giants fan. The Giants' reputation was built back in New York. The team has been here for almost fifty years, and has been in only three World Series (winning none of the three) despite five Hall-of-Famers beginning their careers with the team (Willie Mays, Willie McCovey, Juan Marichal, Gaylord Perry, Orlando Cepeda) and a surefire future HOFer (Barry Bonds) on the roster for thirteen years. Giants fans have to go back to New York in 1954 for our last World Series celebration. Meanwhile, the cross-bay rival Oakland Athletics have won the Series four times. Even more galling is the Los Angeles Dodgers having won five Series, the last in 1988 (two words: Kirk Gibson).
On the other hand, my 49ers have won the Super Bowl five times without a loss. They suck like an Electrolux nowadays, and it would be nice if they were contenders again, but I'm more than satisfied with my memories of their dominance of the 1980's.
A fan of the Boston Red Sox aka Yankees Jr.?
No, this is SERIES!!!
Just like the Twins were the favorites to win last week, when they were going to sweep the A's, right? The Tigers still have a long way to go to get to the ALCS, unless you figure they have a way to have Rogers pitch again in the series?
the "M" stands for Mother...
Tim McCarver is absolutely insufferable. You just cannot beat the ESPN team Joe Morgan and John Miller.
While I was a 7th grader enjoying the Tiger victory, my future husband was a downcast high school senior in suburban St. Louis, convinced that the Cardinals had been robbed. We are hoping for a rematch this year.
I believe that you will see A-Fraud playing in a Los Angeles of Anaheim uniform nest season.
You may have heard it hear first... :o)
Congrats to the Tigers fans.. It's been a long time since you've had a team to cheer for and these guys are worthy of it. They'll have their hands full against Jokeland, but it'll be a good series..
Today's game is just a formality.
Pinstripes? Piffle.
I bored my wife for about 20 minutes last night raving about how sweet the Detroit home unis are.
4 oclock on FOX.
Jeeter's girlfriend is batting .116 lifetime in postseason play
I think the Angels want his regular season stats (.305 batting average). Vlad and the gang can take care of the post season.
A-Rod, 25 million to choke at the plate and the Yankees! Getting beat by a guy who hasn't beat them since the 90's here's a big, LOL
