Week Six College Football
Week Five was a fun week if you were a Buckeye fan. The weekend started out with Auburn getting a severe test at South Carolina in the super tough SEC. Ohio State went to Iowa and dismantled the Hawkeyes. USC was pushed by Washington State and Florida received a good push by Alabama. This week features the Red River Shootout between Texas and Oklahoma and another great match up in the SEC when LSU visits Florida in the Swamp.
As always, all rankings are from the ESPN.com Scoreboard page. The betting lines (used sorely for the basis of predictions) are from Yahoo.com. I will list any games of interest (FReepmail me if you want your team included and I will include them from here on out) and any other games listed in my Yahoo league. I have a new feature this week. In each game that I do not have any confidence, or any game that I think a team could have an unexpected struggle, I will post a picture of a landmine for illustration.

I did a bit better with my picks this past week. I was 17-2 Straight Up and 13-5-1 Against the Spread.
88-14 Straight UP
61-38-3 Against the Spread
I am not surprised, Mangino may have found his offense last week against Nebraska.
Looking forward to the Texas Tech /Missouri game? Its should be a good one.
Go big Mo!
Yes, and it's our homecoming. Most Red Raider fans are still riding a high from beating A&M at College Station last week.
I know this is looking ahead but hell why that. That is what makes the first halfs of football so exciting . You can dream
In case of a 3 way tie between Auburn, Ark, and LSU in the SEC west:
From the SEC Web site
SEC Divisional Tie-Breaker
In the event of a tie for the division championship, the following procedures will be used to break all ties to determine the SEC Football Championship Game representative. All Conference versus Conference Games (both division and non-division) will be counted in the Conference Standings.
A. TWO-TEAM TIE
Head-to-head competition between the two tied teams.
Records of the tied teams within the division.
Head-to-head competition vs. the team within the division with the best overall record (divisional and non-divisional) Conference record and proceeding through the division. Multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last.
Overall record vs. all common non-divisional opponents.
Combined record vs. all common non-divisional teams.
Record vs. common non-divisional team with the best overall Conference (divisional and non-divisional) record and proceeding through other common non-divisional teams based on their order of finish within their division.
The tied team with the highest ranking in the Bowl Championship Series Standings following the last weekend of regular-season games shall be the divisional representative in the SEC Championship Game.
B. THREE (OR MORE) TEAM TIE
(Once the tie has been reduced to two teams, go to the two-team tie-breaker format.)
Combined head-to-head record among the tied teams.
Record of the tied teams within the division.
Head-to-head competition vs. the team within the division with the best overall (divisional and non-divisional) Conference record and proceeding through the division. Multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last.
Overall record vs. non-division teams.
Combined record vs. all common non-divisional teams.
Record vs. common non-divisional team with the best overall Conference (divisional and non-divisional) record and proceeding through other common non-divisional teams based on their order of finish within their division.
The tied team with the highest ranking in the Bowl Championship Series Standings following the last weekend of regular-season games shall be the divisional representative in the SEC Championship Game, unless the second of the tied teams is ranked within five-or-fewer places of the highest ranked tied team. In this case, the head-to-head results of the top two ranked tied teams shall determine the representative in the SEC Championship Game.
Are you going to the game?
John L Smith is toast!
True, Only USC is allowed unimpressive wins. I forgot about that rule lol
SO all of those unimpressive wins for USC don't count?
Yes, if I can ever figure out what to wear.
Seriously, I know this takes a lot of time, and you are very good with your picks. 13-5 against the spread is very good. Picking straight up in college isn't AS tough, because there are so many games like the Ohio State game this week, where the Buckeyes could all get killed on the way to the game and fans could throw their helmets on the field and they'd still win. However, there are some serious "land mines" this week. Hope you're right on Texas/OU. As a Longhorn, though, I still have a lot of respect for how much OU has cleaned up their program since the Switzer years.
This Arky/Auburn Game is getting interesting fast. That Ark team first half appears not to be a fluke
Wish I could say the same about A&M/Kansas. Man, the Aggies have some players, but they SUCK at execution. Their coach had better be worrying about his job. This game is not about athleticism, it's about preparation and A&M mistakes.
This one could be THE upset of the week. Arkansas' looking very strong.
Wear Red silly..... ;^)
Wow did you see that trick play by Ark?
