Question At Vote.com:

CONGRESSIONAL PAGE SCANDAL: SHOULD SPEAKER HASTERT RESIGN?

YES! He was told about Foley's inappropriate emails last year, but did nothing about it. The buck has to stop somewhere!

NO! Foley lied to him and he respected the parents’ wishes that nothing further be done about it. Foley’s the problem, not Hastert!

Were the emails from last year explicit or just wierd? I thought it was the IMs that came to light late last week that were explicit.

As worded? No.

Should we kick out 3/4 of Congress in toto? Yes. For one various scummy reason or another.

Right on! That's why two Florida newspapers refused to publish articles. And Hastert never knew the contents of the emails because rep. Alexander insisted on keeping the contents confidential.

There is no reason for him to resign.

So do I. However, I don't know anything about the software running this board. phpBB and other forum software packages allow for that.

It's possible to download free polling software from the web. I'm sure you can manipulate it so others can post a poll as well. You would just have to put up a web page.

The trick would be to get the word out so lots of people would go to the site and vote so the results would be valid.

Was it Hastert's official responsibility to do anything about Foley?
