Help with GoToMyPC
PackerBoy | 9-28-06 | PackerBoy

Help! I have been trying to access my work PC through GoToMyPC, but my browser (IE 6.0) shows that the site (www.gotomypc.com) cannot be found.

Is anyone else able to load that site or and access GoToMyPC.com?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Any idea why I can't load it in my browser? I am not a PC wiz but I have NEVER had this problem before.

I deleted the cookie I had for that website and then tried again -- and it worked!

Thanks all.

Cookies … a boon to advertising mankind (and a pain in the arse to the rest of us). Glad you got your problem solved.

Cookies will often cause browsers to reject access to web pages. If the “cookie” contains certain words or phases that the browser has been programmed to reject, you will not be able to get to these pages. For example my home page is www.excite.com, which is a legitimate cite (non porn), will not reload after running many of my malware, spyware, virus programs (because of the word “excite”). I have to go into the browser and give it permission to accept anything from www.excite.com.

Cookies are (not) our friends.
