Things are quiet and peaceful in small-town Jericho, Kansas, but when a baffling explosion occurs in the distance, Jericho's residents are plunged into social, psychological and physical chaos. No one knows what to think, and fear of the unknown takes over the town, especially because its isolation cuts it off from outside help. When nearly everything they know seems gone, will the residents of JERICHO band together to face their unfamiliar and mysterious new world?

Momaw you were asking about the morse code. Now they have the episode on the web site and mom listened. Her skills are rusty (she says they are sending at only about 5 wpm which is very slow) but she's 99% sure it says "he knows Rob". Does anyone know someone on there named Rob? Victor was the guy who died in the hospital.

"he knows Rob" Interesting!
Great detective work, ozarkgirl!
Which episode did you watch on the net?
Maybe every episode has a different message at the start?

The only one I brought up was the most recent one. You had mentioned the morse code, I was curious about it too. If you look up the Jericho site, it has all the episodes that have already aired, I only remember the morse code on the one. If there's more, I don't remember any. I'll keep an eye out next week, it would be really cool if there was a different message sent every week.
So....is there a "Rob"? That's what's got me baffled but she listened to it many times, filling in letters each time until she came up with that. I think it's intended for people to decode because, as I mentioned before, she said it's very slow output, just 5 wpm, that's beginning speed. It's been many years for her so she's not able to take it quickly, she was required to have it for her ham radio license years ago.

There is no place in Kansas where you can see the Rockies. Hollywood doesn't get details like that - years ago there was a TV show with mountains in Florida - next to Cape Kennedy...

LOL! Austin Powers took care of that little nuisance. In one of the movies Austin says aloud isn't it interesting how the English country side looks so much like California.

I'm glad to learn that the internet was built by the military and will survive a nuclear war. Here I thought Al Gore built the internet and it might survive a swarm of killer bees.

I'm taking the library and internet damage personally.
Lots of pool guys around though, huh?
I'm waiting for the EMP.

So Hawkins and Jake are not on the same team. And the retaliatory missiles have been launched in the last scene.

I only caught about the last 20 minutes (I'll catch the rest later since I tivo'd it) but that scene with the missiles being launched kinda made my skin crawl.
Great show so far however, I'm glad I got turned onto it.
To: Hexenhammer
- Retaliatory missiles mean that the attack did not come from a domestic terrorist unit. They came from outside the country, and we know which country.
- Hawkins brought up a Russian language page. A clue?
- Hawkins is either working for the enemy or is part of a secret government recovery unit. Perhaps, anticipating an invasion to follow the nuclear attack, the government has created cells in the countryside to rally resistance. We know from last week that Jericho is supposed to be a rally point of some kind.
- Jake is on the other team -- but I suspect he is one of the good guys. He was supposed to go to San Diego before the war started. Why? And he was in a hurry to get there.
- That makes Hawkins a bad guy -- maybe. There could be a number of different agency teams working at cross purposes during the confusion -- which is traditional government clusterf***ing. Hawkins and Jake could be on the same side -- different teams -- but not know it.
That's enough for tonight. I'm getting a headache.
