Somehow I doubt that Momma and Poppa Kampf give any thought to politics at all. I agree, they weren't thinking about politics. Take notice, I didn't say they were Democrats.

Not just the Northeast. Cities all over the country are run by left wingers & a disproportionate amount of our government bux go to development in our nation's cities.

I posted as much on another thread about this.

This situation is a demonstration of the left's hypocrisy writ large. I don't know what the parents' political leanings are but it is fair to say that there are surely many right-leaning republicans who claim to be pro-life until their daughter gets knocked up by a black man.
In fact, there are probably many on this forum who quietly sympathize with the parents and are hoping for a slap on the wrist --they're just not going to come out and say it.

I totally concur with you on this one. This one probably hits a wee bit too close to home for some, hence they will remain silent.

From the story:
"Sisti said his clients, who are well-known developers, have deep ties in the community and would not flee. He said that under New Hampshire law, it is not illegal to have rope, duct tape, or a gun in a car, as long as the weapon is not concealed."What a sleezebag of a lawyer ~ this is roughly Guy Fawke's defense ~ that none of the various things he'd done, from taking gunpowder into Parliament, to lighting matches, was a violation of law.
The Brits hanged him anyway for trying to blow up Parliament.
I suspect that when you are in the act of commiting a crime, possessing the "tools of the trade" is probably another count they can use to keep these people in jail for a long time.

Ought to be a capital crime to badger a person into assisting in, or persuading someone else to submit to abortion.
Not sure that would work with these people but we'd get lots of new material for Court TV.

>>What a sleazebag of a lawyer
From Portland Press Herald:
>>But Mark Sisti, the ponytailed lawyer who represented Pamela Smart in her 1991 murder trial and represented the Kampfs on Monday, said there is no evidence that any crime was committed, at least in New Hampshire.

"Dion said Katelyn Kampf told him her parents got upset when she called them Thursday night and told them she was pregnant. The Kampfs had met her boyfriend before and been friendly, but the pregnancy apparently "changed the dynamic," he said. Katelyn Kampf said her mother "kept referring to the baby as a thing, as 'It,' and there were other comments made," he said. The boyfriend, 22-year-old Reme Johnson, last week began serving a 6-month sentence for theft at the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn, Maine. He also has previous felony convictions for burglary and receiving stolen property, the Portland Press Herald reported. He is also a self-styled hip-hop artist who has gone by the name Young Merk.
