OH NO!!!!!
Its The
"I HAVENT GOT THE THREAD DONE"
Thread.
Sigh, yes, dear Abby/Dolly will have to wait yet another week, as a combination of my procrastination, Murphys visit, and normal SNAFUs have contributed.
And since I only have 3 questions there is STILL time for you to submit your to me via FReepMail. And I REALLY am not trying to hog all the threads. ( even though it SURE looks like it )
So for this weekend, in addition to the normal chit chat, lets just call this a Favorite Thread. Post your favorites in life
Graphics,
fav pix of your pets,
Pix of your ex,
Recipes,
Sport Teams
Jokes or
Rants.
In other words.. Anything goes (well within the guidelines of decency & FR guidelines!!!)

TOPICS: Chit/Chat

I doubt that it would work for me..........
I tried CM and that was NOT my kind of site. There are some VERY feministic bitter women there--who seek to demoralize men and turn them into metros. I was not liked there much, due to my "old fashioned" beliefs system.
Things are not much better here. But it is usually the MEN here who make the most fun of me here, not the women.
And there are a couple of women here who I would definitely be interested in, one in particular. but I doubt that the women would feel any attraction towards me.

Hey Miss Dolly!
Things are going much better at my job. This was the first week I had where I wasn't logged on till midnight. In fact, I didn't have to once work form home this week (with the exception of Sunday). I feel like I am starting to get my life back...

we really do get attached to these fuzzy friends of ours. Like our own kids. When they die or (to me) worse yet "disappear", part of your soul is just empty.
I know, when Pansy passed on, it felt like the old line from a country song, "they ripped out my heart and stomped that sucker flat." B-(
I still cry regularly & get VERY DOWN regarding the loss of oliver. for 4 years he was my bud.. went everywhere with me & well, I cant write more as the waterfall is already starting again.
I think I'm starting to get over that little by little although it may be a little hard at Christmas, after all, this would have been Pansy's 20th Christmas. As the pic says below, sometimes Reality isn't to our liking:
screenshot from Final Fantasy VIII from the Sony Playstation
Here is the current Queen of my cats, Corky, she is 17. This is her on my lap as I play Playstation:

I promised some more airshow pics, well, here are a few:
Four Blue Angels
Me standing on the left, Denny Hamlin's NASCAR racecar. I work for the sponsor. If Pcottraux is brave enough to post a photo of himself, why not me? B-)

To: Maximus_Ridiculousness; Rca2000
hope you have a tough butt, cause I will be next to max kicking!
you da man hon!
There is a woman somewhere who will recognize you are a treasure...believe it.
and yes, there are Bitchy woman at FR, at Conservative single sites & all over the world... but there are also a lot of very nice ones who also are insecure & afraid of the weird & mean men they encounter. They will meet you & think they have died & gone to heaven.
You are a kind & gentle man...just know that in God's timing you will meet each other.. maybe here at FR, maybe at the grocery store.

funny thing is that in years ahead you will look at these times as "the good old days"...
rather depressing thought in itself, isn't it?

Thanks Dolly. I see you are from NE Ohio. I was born in Lakewood Ohio, (left side of Cleveland).
Hello to all and a big thank you to Free Republic for keeping me sane since Oct 2000.
To: Nowhere Man
That's a great picture of you playing Playstation with Corky on your lap. She must be pretty mellow to tolerate you pressing buttons while she's resting her head on your forearm. Thanks also for the Blue Angels picture. What those guys do is incredible.

Question/Comment Okay, we generally avoid heavy political talk on the singles thread, but it wouldn't be Free Republic if a few political things didn't rear their heads. I just spent a frustrating couple of hours trying to deliver yard signs and bumper stickers for a Congressional candidate. I was in a part of the parish where I've never been, so I was lost most of the time. I found most of the houses that I needed to find. One lady was home and seemed glad to receive her sign. At another house, I left it on the porch. At other houses, no one was home. At one house, they had no idea how their name ended up on my list. I'm not spending heavy-duty time volunteering this year, but I'm trying to do a little bit.
My questions are as follows:
How many of you are going to get involved in a campaign in some way? If you are, what do you plan to do? Republican candidates could use help this cycle, and if you can spare the time, I'd encourage you to give it a try.
How do you feel about the advice/idea of meeting possible romantic partners while volunteering for political campaigns? I've volunteered to some extent on every campaign since 1996, and I've never met anyone who was close to be a possible dating partner. I'm not sure that I've even met a woman who was available while working these campaigns. One of the cookie-cutter responses to the question of where to meet people is to volunteer for campaigns, but I've had absolutely no luck in that area. I wondered whether others have had different experiences.
