In an blockbusting EXCLUSIVE interview on Dateline NBC, correspondent Matt Lauer sat down with Debra Lafave, the 23 year-old teacher who had sex with a 14 year-old boy on several occasions which made national headlines.
For some ungodly reason, NBC decided this was a groundbreaking story that needed to be told to America. I have one question…
Why is Debra Lafave on television?
There have been notable people who have earned the right to recognition. Sport’s heroes, movie stars, business and religious leaders, respected politicians and cultural groundbreakers have all proven worthy of the media attention paid to them. I've seen and known many girls that look and 'feel' the same at younger ages. That's still no excuse for a perv to move on them.
I know a 'teenaged' girl that ran off with her married school bus driver and they've been married now for decades and have kids together. Still not the right way to go about it. He should have divorced and waited for her to 'become' legal. Not disapeared one night and given everyone heart attacks.
But you know as well as I that not ALL 14s look and 'feel' older. If a picture of this boy pops up and he look 10yrs old and stick thin maybe then the actual title of 'child rapist' will come out.
Only if this boy looks young will some people stop laughing about something that should never be laughed about. In other times and societies 14yr olds (girls) were married off to older men, but those girls knew their whole lives it was comming. In our society we ALL know adults that 'go after' kids are monsters.
Gender and 'attractiveness' be damned. It's a crime.

At that age the big difference will be the stigma attached when all the other kids find out.

As much as people want to make out that this kid is destroyed mentally for life, I think you are right.
I know alot of girls who had really fine substitute college student teachers as after school dates (we are talking freshman and sophmores) and they are perfectly fine mentally. Teenagers aren't as fragile as people want to make out. 10 or 11, yes. 14? Nah.
Watching an interview on TV is immoral and unethical?

My 'integrity' I didn't get from my Mother or my Dad. The first was a coward and the second was, well, very bad. I had to build whatever smidges I have on my own. They don't have a clue, but their daughters will know what they are, even if they think they're hiding it.

There is a difference. But they are both still kids. Keep in mind I'm not referring to sex between children. While that is problematic its no where close to that of adult -child sex.
Since so many guys on here wanna hit it ya havta ask why was she pursuing a child. If all she wanted was a good time she probably had plenty of opportunities.
She pursued him because of his age. Hence the term, child predator. She was being paid to teach our kids and not to sleep with them.
What if she's in an environ where experience is prized instead of damned, how do you think things would play out then?

So true, but in all honesty I have met many more women with these qualities, then I have men. Don't get me wrong, I love men, I just realize that they are created different.
Besides, I like men....little boys don't do a thing for me.
