Week Three College Football
Week Two gave everyone the earliest #1 vs. #2 showdown in modern college football history. The game, however, turned out to not really live up to the hype. This week we are treated to SEVERAL big games, some of which are in conference in the SEC, and a historically significant rivalry renews in South Bend.
As always, all rankings are from the ESPN.com Scoreboard page. I will also list any games of interest (FReepmail me if you want your team included and I will include them from here on out) and any other games listed in my Yahoo league.
GAME of the WEEK
Saturday, September 16th, 2006 3:30 PM on CBS
(6) LSU at (3) Auburn (-3.5)
This is going to be a fun game to watch I think. We have Auburn which has been the odds-on favorite to win the SEC this year against a very good and very fast LSU team that is looking to spoil the Auburn season AND put itself into the national spotlight. Both teams feature strong defenses, good running games and good coaching. Fewest mistakes wins this game. Im going with the home team.
Auburn 16 LSU 13
Thursday September 14th, 2006 (ESPN Thursday Night Game)
Maryland at (5) West Virginia (-17)
West Virginia gets one of their rivalry games out of the way early. This should be a decent test for a team that hasnt beaten a BCS School yet.
Its not in the pickem league, but Ill give a pick anyway.

OT, right.
I wish.
God, we are so screwed this season. Bobby decided to save at least one of his kids' jobs. I guess he figures Tommy can hire Jeffy.
THis is no fluke or Monday morning hangover.
Mikey Andrews' D got caught napping and got burned. He calls prevent D late in the game time and time again and his team always suffers for it. They gave up a big run for a 1st down then the big play.
BOOOOOO!!!
...some might say that the 1919 World series scandal wasn't all that bad because the 'Black' Sox were acquited by a jury of their peers.
I'm supposed to sit down and watch a movie with my kids now.....watch the vocabulary Bunker.
"FSU has got to be one of the worst coached teams in NCAA Div. 1A."
And as long as FSU keeps valuing family above productivity, that will continue.
How did they lose 4 seconds in a $#@!%#!% kick?
I'm heartsick. And I want someone's head on a platter.
This can't continue at FSU.
One more for your upset alert.
87 YARDS IN THE FINAL MINUTE?????????????????????????
Clemson is a good ACC team but not a division winner. They have speed to keep up with FSU but they are nothing special. It is time for FSU's AD to get honest about the fact that Bowden is overrated, over the hill and needs to retire. I think about the Miami games that they have lost and I can always seem to remember bad coaching calls.
Upset Realized
Clemson 27
Florida State 20
Upset Alert
Florida 21 (just scored)
Tennessee 20
Late in the 4th quarter.
"I'm beyond pissed so I can imagine what's going to happen in Tallahassee. First Troy & now this."
Exactly right.
FSU isn't going to accept this sort of loss. I'm sending TK an email right now. Might not be worth much, but the more the merrier.
yep
My God what happened on that one play?
Jeez....
If they allowed the kids to come back then I will assume that the offenses weren't overwhelming. The Syracuse team in 96-87-98 had some good kids at the skill positions and I can remember BC having problems against teams like that.
Can't believe FSU blew it. Miami got smacked today, too.
Not that I think it will happen, but when was the last time all of the Big 3 Florida schools lost on the same day???
Not sure about UF, though.
UT running the screen effectively. Getting close to FG territory. Wilhoit can poke it 50 yards
Not good for any sport..a gambling scandal has denied Pete Rose entry into the HOF. Gambling and steroids are the cancer of all sports.
Bowden stays becasue of the recruiting. The mothers form the hood trust him & he can still get the best. Other than that, his value to operations is waning.
