Week Three College Football
Week Two gave everyone the earliest #1 vs. #2 showdown in modern college football history. The game, however, turned out to not really live up to the hype. This week we are treated to SEVERAL big games, some of which are in conference in the SEC, and a historically significant rivalry renews in South Bend.
As always, all rankings are from the ESPN.com Scoreboard page. I will also list any games of interest (FReepmail me if you want your team included and I will include them from here on out) and any other games listed in my Yahoo league.
GAME of the WEEK
Saturday, September 16th, 2006 3:30 PM on CBS
(6) LSU at (3) Auburn (-3.5)
This is going to be a fun game to watch I think. We have Auburn which has been the odds-on favorite to win the SEC this year against a very good and very fast LSU team that is looking to spoil the Auburn season AND put itself into the national spotlight. Both teams feature strong defenses, good running games and good coaching. Fewest mistakes wins this game. Im going with the home team.
Auburn 16 LSU 13
Thursday September 14th, 2006 (ESPN Thursday Night Game)
Maryland at (5) West Virginia (-17)
West Virginia gets one of their rivalry games out of the way early. This should be a decent test for a team that hasnt beaten a BCS School yet.
Its not in the pickem league, but Ill give a pick anyway.

Six games...he was replaced in the sixth.
I want to choke the color guy for rooting overtly for Clemson.
F these bandwagon SOBs.
Of course Prime Time too.
"....Tonight they're too busy salivating over Michigan."
And BC, and BC. Michigan will at least have to play OSU.
LOL. Same era, give or take a year.
I graduated the summer before we beat Michigan at Michigan.
Glorious game. Keith Jackson had to choke back tears as his beloved Big Ten wet dream team got shut up.
Geez, seems like Fagg is the only receiver we have.
You never know when the BC players will shave points.
I am left scratching my head after that first half for Nebraska, I understand scripting but its like Cally scripted the entire half! USC may still be ahead if it was different but I cant help but believe we would be closer if they developed abetter first half game plan.
Yeah, but now that the 'real' Catholic dream team has been silenced, there must be a substitute. 8)
never know...
it's always possible, but I think that if you would've gone up a bit, USC would've turned it on a bit.
LOL
I m seeing a Nebraska team playing well below its abilities, come on only 9 passing attempts so far?
UPSET ALERT
Tennessee 17 - Florida 7
Clemson 20 - FSU 12
God I'm sick of hearing from Holly. Our WRs are choking, big time.
In these troubled times...its the Holy Cross Crusaders for me º¿º
exactly....
USC is crashing hard on the run.
Maybe Beau Bridges thought you could run the ball at USC?
Hey Free Shoes University, you may want to buy #5 a pair of hands....
Yes I'm joking. They should put Carr in.
ROFLMAO! Patriot League champs, bay-bee!
Don't go off on FSU too much, Mike. I'll click my garnet-red slippers and wish John Cooper back.
Bad calls all the way around. The PI on Courtney Taylor was atrocious and cost Auburn fantastic field position. They missd an obvious pass interference in the end zone in the first half. They missed an illegal crack back on an LSU receiver. They also missed numerous holding calls on LSU offensive line.
It was simply a great defensive SEC game. One for the ages.
Easy and simplistic to focus on one call and not the numerous other blown/missed calls. The LSU OL absolutely mugged the Auburn DL and no calls. The pass interference called on Courtney Taylor was atrocious. The completely missed Courtney getting mugged in the end zone in the first half.
It was a great defensive SEC game. One for the ages.
