Week Three College Football
Week Two gave everyone the earliest #1 vs. #2 showdown in modern college football history. The game, however, turned out to not really live up to the hype. This week we are treated to SEVERAL big games, some of which are in conference in the SEC, and a historically significant rivalry renews in South Bend.
As always, all rankings are from the ESPN.com Scoreboard page. I will also list any games of interest (FReepmail me if you want your team included and I will include them from here on out) and any other games listed in my Yahoo league.
GAME of the WEEK
Saturday, September 16th, 2006 3:30 PM on CBS
(6) LSU at (3) Auburn (-3.5)
This is going to be a fun game to watch I think. We have Auburn which has been the odds-on favorite to win the SEC this year against a very good and very fast LSU team that is looking to spoil the Auburn season AND put itself into the national spotlight. Both teams feature strong defenses, good running games and good coaching. Fewest mistakes wins this game. Im going with the home team.
Auburn 16 LSU 13
Thursday September 14th, 2006 (ESPN Thursday Night Game)
Maryland at (5) West Virginia (-17)
West Virginia gets one of their rivalry games out of the way early. This should be a decent test for a team that hasnt beaten a BCS School yet.
Its not in the pickem league, but Ill give a pick anyway.

True, are you excited about the Battle of Ohio tomorrow?
I'm surprised the Louisville/Miami game is boring...we don't have it down here because of the Oregon/OK matchup
LOL
not really....
Cincy should destroy Cleveland right now....It isn't that Cleveland's defense is bad, it's just that they will be on the field for 45 minutes tomorrow.
well Miami sucks on offense and L-ville is having issues adjusting to the speed of the Miami D.
Cincy SHOULD destroy the Browns, but they might be looking ahead to the Steelers next week. Plus TJ Whosyourmama is out (still) with a bruised heel (which he got way back in the 3rd Preseason Game against Green Bay).
The Clash of the Tigers is still 0-0, and it's nearly halftime. Someone get at least a FG
Man Oklahoma sucks, 1st and goal at the 2, 4 penalties in a row and they only get a field goal.
LSU gets the FG to get on the board, lead Auburn 3-0
The Bengals have a slew of 3rd and 4th WRs who will step up fine.
But look for Rudy Johnson to have a big day tomorrow.
LOL
He had a great first game against KC. I'm hoping Palmer throws a bit more this time around since he's on my FF team. But if there's a solid running game and a strong D there's no need to win in the air (that's the Steelers philosophy, and it works).
I also cant blieve how bad Meechicken is whooping Notre Lame.
Yeah, hopefully Charlie Weis, the Codewriter, can make some adjustmnents during halftime to make a game out of this. As it is ND is getting exposed.
Wow, Henne pwns ND. This game may be worse than last week's contest against Penn State.
man I go up to take a shower after doing yardwork this morning and I come down and I see that Missagain has scored ANOTHER TD.
NBC had entered full funeral mode.
LOL
pretty much
So much for ND is back and for real. Maybe Michigan is back and for real.
Well, although I was wrong last week in predicting that UMICH would pound Cent Mich by more than they did, I had a feeling that the Wolverines would do well in South Bend. OSU/MICH might wind up being the GAME 'O THE YEAR....
I knew the Domers were overrated, but man, Michigan is putting an old fashioned *ss-kicking on the Irish.
