THE VILLAGES -- Nearly two weeks after toddler Trenton Duckett disappeared, his 21-year-old mother shot and killed herself Friday afternoon in her grandparents' retirement-community home, authorities said.
Melinda Duckett died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said, but they provided few other details about her death.
Two-year-old Trenton had not been found by early today.

In the taped interview aired Friday night on the CNN Headline News program Nancy Grace, Melinda Duckett was interrogated on her whereabouts before and during Trenton's reported abduction.
She was asked whether she had undergone a lie-detector test, where she was before her son's disappearance and other specifics of the case but provided rambling replies that rarely answered the questions.
"Nancy Grace ate her up," said Jeanne Bragg, a close friend of the Ducketts' who watched Friday's program. "She asked her [Melinda] four times if she had taken a lie-detector test, and Melinda danced around the question."

Why would she identify with people from Japan? Is she Japanese? She could be of Thai, Filipina, Korean, Vietnamese or countless of Asian countries decent?
I have no idea. Perhaps she pulled monkey's from her posterior and set them aflight. Perhaps while you're running through your judgements of me, you'll process this fact; Asians behave differently than western folk. Even those raised in western society.
Hard as it is to believe, I think it will come out that she killed her child to retaliate against her ex-husband. I know in my childhood playmate's murder that was the case. Her husband refused her a divorce, so she killed my friend and then herself. One of five murders that have been friends or people I knew well.
In NG's case, maybe she is entitled to a little drama after both her fiance and her best friend have been murdered.
I so disagree, I have close girlfriends who are Asian, and they are concerned about the same things as myself. Getting the kids to school and activities, what we're cooking for dinner for our husbands, having good girlfriend time. We graduated from the same high school and have a very long history. The only difference between us is our skin color.
My friend was a Japanese/Caucasian, i.e., his mother who wanted the divorce was Japanese, and his father an old world european type guy. She always put on a happy face, even weeks before the suicide/murder.

Have you heard NG tonite say that Trenton's toys, toy box, baby pictures, etc were found in a dumpster of their apt bldg?
And that she painted some room or rooms in the house recently. They didn't indicate if it was before or after the baby disappeared.
These things are confirmed by the cops.
I put this together with the information that some of her friends didn't even know she had a child. And extrapolate out to a theory that maybe she was covering up evidence of a child because there may have been a guy she liked and wanted to get involved with who she didn't think would be interested in her if she had a child. Is that too much of a stretch?

Today on NG they also showed some of the items on Melindas blog. In early July she said something like. "I'm sick today. Bad news". And in subsequent blogs she complained about being sick in the morning and lots of times she complained about having stomach aches and feeling very sick. So maybe she was pregnant. This adds some more to my theory that there was another guy in the picture.
They (on NG) were talking about whether or not an autopsy would show if she was pregnant. And they speculated if the sonogram picture that was thrown in the dumpster was of Trenton or if it could've been a current pregnancy.
Hasn't Melinda been buried already?

Law enforcement officials told the WESH 2 I-Team that police found freshly painted walls in some places, and in the back of the building, trash that was allegedly thrown out of Duckett's apartment was filled with Trenton's toys.
But what grabbed investigators' attention was pictures, officials said. They said a lot of pictures of Trenton, including the sonogram printout from when Duckett was pregnant, were all thrown away in the trash.
