Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

They just changed the forecast again--Olathe may get 6", don't know what that does for us, but we may get more than 2-3".

Pretty calm out there right now...hmmm...

Statement as of 12:28 PM CST on November 30, 2006

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 3 am CST Friday...

... Near blizzard conditions for the Tulsa area...

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 3 am CST Friday
for the following counties...

In Arkansas...
Benton... Carroll... Washington... Madison... Crawford... Franklin...
and Sebastian.

In Oklahoma...
Pushmataha... Choctaw... Tulsa... Rogers... Mayes... Delaware...
creek... Okfuskee... Okmulgee... Wagoner... Cherokee... Adair...
Muskogee... McIntosh... Sequoyah... Pittsburg... Haskell... Latimer...
and Le Flore.

Heavy snow was beginning to develop across northern Oklahoma and
this snow will continue to increase this afternoon and spread
across much of northeast Oklahoma this afternoon and into far
northwest Arkansas this evening.

Near blizzard conditions will develop along the I-44 corridor...
including the Tulsa area... as winds gusts to near 30 mph with
the falling snow. Snowfall accumulations of 5 to 7 inches
are expected in the I-44 corridor... with blowing and driving
snow. The visibility will drop to below one half mile at
times causing near whiteout conditions. Travel across all
of northeast Oklahoma will become increasingly difficult
this afternoon and may become nearly impossible at some locations.
Dangerous wind chills will also occur with this storm and people
outdoors should dress in layers and protect their head to avoid
frost bite.

If you must travel... you must carry a winter storm survival kit
that includes high energy snack foods... water and extra clothing
and blankets. If you become stranded... stay with your vehicle
and run your motor in short intervals to maintain some heat.
Be sure the exhaust system is free of snow to prevent Carbon monoxide
poisoning. It is best to keep car windows slightly opened to
allow a little fresh air into the vehicle.

Snow will expand across east-central Oklahoma into northwest
Arkansas this afternoon and this evening with snow totals of
3 to 5 inches expected. Gusty winds will cause some blowing
and drifting of the snow and make travel difficult.

Snow mixed with sleet and freezing rain will affect southeast
Oklahoma and west-central Arkansas with final accumulations
tonight of 1 to 3 inches expected... making travel hazardous.

This is what it looks like here!

That isn't much snow...it's ice pellets. Frozen rain and sleet, I guess.

I love wintery mix!

Well not really.
Love the snow though. We got jipped last night. They promised an 80% chance of 2-4 inches and we got nothing.
