Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Heh...I love that kid.

As I recall, there were some pretty funny strips back when The Movies were just coming out, too.

Well, what's up there? Gonna be working a lot later? Should we go rescue Cisco? It's not bad here, but it's gonna get cold and dark is all.

I was thinking 'bags of topsoil',

Heh...I still have 40 pounds of potting soil in the trunk.

I should pick up a couple of containers to use for emergency water.

I just save up those plastic gallon milk jugs.

We buy the kitty litter in plastic jugs sometimes, they are very handy for storing water.

We're pretty blessed.

With each other and those two Jedis? Yes, you are.

You need to put some heavy bags of sand in the back of your van. Also, keep some available in ziploc bags back there to use in case you get stuck on ice somewhere. That happened to me a couple of times, and I'd get out and sprinkle sand in front and in back of all the tires. Gave me some traction on hilly spots.

My Dad always made sure I had a big bag of sand and a shovel in my car trunk when winter started. His reasoning was: the sand provided extra weight over the drive axle, giving better traction; if I got stuck in snow, I had the shovel to dig myself out; and if I got stuck on ice, I could put the sand down for better traction.

My Dad was a pretty smart guy!

Say, we're watching Monday Night Football, which is being played in Seattle tonight (Packers vs. Seahawks) and it's snowing pretty heavily at the game...

Yew... we just switched over to look. it looks like real wet sleety slushy kind of snow too. It's not doing that right ~here~ at the moment.

I have realized I can use about 8k of my words. The rest are all totally, totally, completely, utterly wrong.

If I start rewriting now completely from scratch can that go against the total?
