The Hobbit Hole XXXI - Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Maybe he's been doing plumbing work in the night :~)

I'll go ask.

This would not surprise me.

He does an awful lot at night!

Yessss!

If I had water, I could wash a load before work, stick it in the dryer and LEAVE THE DRYER RUNNING when I took off.

Amazing.

I'm hearing that Bellingham got over a foot...

Well, there's still time. I want some snow. Lots of it. :-)

Even just a tiny bit higher up than us, there's lots more snow.

But I'm likely to miss Vermont snowfall.

Oh well. But I do wonder how far I'd have to go if I did want to, say, snowshoe again. Mostly just a matter of finding a place with a road to *up*, and a place to park *up there*, really, I suppose.

Ack! Figured I could at least have some coffee since I can't take a shower yet...but of course you can't make coffee without water.

Ack!!

There's supposed to be great snowshoeing up around Paradise, and also up around Snoqualmie and White pass... well, I suppose all of the passes have some good snowshoe places.

Good morning Hobbit Hole!

Here are a couple of pictures...one is of me, jacking up the back end of the car and getting ready to set it up on the sawhorse behind me...

And this one is the cake I made for Steve's 45th birthday, which was Saturday...

There is a water problem, with the well. He tried to turn it off, then on, I didn't get the whole story, but water shot straight up at some point. He called Richard and didn't get much help. Now I think he's going to call a well outfit. I think it's probably a plumber job, I think well people pretty much just dig the hole, but I might be wrong.

With all these power outages lately, you should have had a couple bottles of water stored Rosie :~)

I never think of these things ahead of time...

I did put the flashlight in a good spot when we were getting that wind yesterday...but forgot about water.

I'm going back over there to see what he learned on the phone, if he even got anyone to answer this early. I tell ya, I almost offered to make the call, but I didn't want to insult him, with the language problems, I don't know how anyone else is going to understand him.

Water, or coffee? ;-)

They do have both at work...I'm more worried about getting cleaned up. Just do my best, I guess.
