Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
|
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Can't remember everyone who's a fan of the movie... so if I left anyone off I apologize. Anyway, here's a commercial that Cingular is running:
A Cingular Christmas Story

*sigh*
Dryer guy finally called.
Guess they'll be around before one and after three tomorrow. Considering it's supposed to pour, not sure either one is that great. We'll see, I guess.

We'll see. If you don't like the weather here, wait 15 minutes :~)
To: HairOfTheDog
That makes it a bit awkward when the drive is more like twenty, though...there and back. ;-)

And a lot can change between there and back again, as we know :~)
We'll bring a tarp... if we have another tarp, I'm not sure. Do you have one?
To: All
Well, evolution between 500 and 220 million years ago has not changed!
The sequel is mostly about digging out one big skeleton of an Icthyosaur (Dolphinlike Swimming Reptile)

We watched a hilarious movie tonight; have you seen Connie and Carla? It stars Nia Vardalos (My Big Fat Greek Wedding)and Toni Collette (Muriel's Wedding, About a Boy), as two women who are trying to make it in dinner theatre singing show tunes. They witness a murder and go on the run. They end up in LA, and to hide out, dress as drag queens and sing in a bar frequented by transvestites. I had heard it was funny, so it was one of those take a chance movies on our Netflix list. If you get the chance, be sure to see it!

Saw that Cingular commercial the other night. I love the end of it with Ralphie in his pink bunny suit!

I thought they did a good job of working in a lot of the classic scenes from the movie.

Movie special effects a la 'Zelig' and 'Forrest Gump' have gotten a lot cheaper -- imagine when this stuff is used to fake political exposes.

I have one that's outside and wet. Oops.
I could always pick one up at Ace if it looks like we may need one. Having extra tarps around is always handy.

Might be good to do on the way... If we tarp it, it won't rain :~)
To: HairOfTheDog
Heh...this is probably true.
So there's that.

"You'll run the bill up!" LOL! Even the narrator sounded a bit like Jean Shepherd!

Hi, Miss Rosie! I don't show up at FR much anymore, a crackdown on Internet usage at the office, new weird hours there to cover the Helpdesk, messed up sleeping patterns due to that and old age, etc. But I generally get around to reading pings sooner or later, even if I don't always answer them. I hope things are more regular for you and everyone here.
