Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

And, yes, she was also in our wedding.

At least the dresses weren't peach, or green dotted swiss.

Hoops. Heh.

At least those dresses covered a girl.

The dotted swiss was for a Catholic wedding. The groomsmen had to help all the bridesmaids get back up after they knelt coming in...

I guess the bride forgot to check to see if the girls could genuflect in hoops. Silly oversight. ;o)

Was she 'channeling' Scarlett O'Hara?

She grew up with us in SW Virginia, but her family moved to Colorado before we graduated. She wanted a "southern" wedding.

Hmmm. I should have gone with that. Little Sister #2 would have loved hoop skirts of dooooooom. She wanted a big butt-bow, after all.

On the downside, I have to work a half-day on Friday.

On the upside, if'n I can fit it into the van (might have to make more than one trip with pieces), I get a nice desk out of the deal, with lots of filing space. So I don't have to have stacks of papers and pens and all on the top of the desk. Can set this desk/table/thing up with just the 'puter and move all the other frap into the spare 'oom.

Are you getting the desk from your workplace?

Helping another office move, and they aren't taking their furniture with 'em. They're giving whatever gets left behind to Goodwill...so it's up for grabs.

Nothing fancy or pretty, but lots of paper organizing space, and room for books, which is more important to me. It comes apart into three pieces, so hopefully it's relatively portable.

BTW, there's some really good smoked salmon in our breakroom here. Just thought you'd like to know.

We had half-day-old pizza in ours (you take what you get on midnights).

Heh...I know...but I feel bad always asking for help! Especially for stuff I *want* rather than pretty much need.

BTW, I talked with my brother for a rather long time yesterday and he's eager for me to see their new digs (they're renting a house instead of being in that complex...*shudder*), so the current deal is that I'm supposed to go up, go with them to the sister's for dinner, and hopefully not stick around all that late. They plan to eat at two thirty or so, sounded like, so I could take off before it was seriesly late.

I really do appreciate the other offer, though!
