Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
|
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Sadly, yes. However, since my schedule has changed, I plan to be adding a few more words.
I'll list the actual count once I hit 5 digits.
Hopefully, that'll be this weekend!
To: Rose in RoseBear
Well I'm rooting for you. I've really come to love my story (the mechanics of it are crummy) but its been a great stress release lately.

Yeah, it might be tough for someone to take a shower around that thing Or... you could just sit on it while you shower.

Tough since there's no shower in that bathroom. I just don't like it staring at me.

I guess it wouldn't float in the tub, huh? Here's an idea for what you can do with the tank!

I'd like to read yours when its done. I think I've said that. ;-)
Mine...well, I'm still writing around a huge plot hole, and it's still wayyyyy too big for its britches. If/when I rewrite, I'm thinking of removing one of two first person perspectives entirely (amnesia chick).

I am slogging slowly past the action. About three days behind now I think. But I am about a quarter way through the story, plot wise. Not sure it'll be a quarter word-count-speaking.

There ought to be something interesting to do with it, perhaps even in place. Maybe with some dry ice just before company comes over.
Evenin' folkses...

Well, my place is clean. Property manager inspected. The week is over, and I didn't kill the sox auditors. yet. But it was close.
To: JenB
I really need to finish mine up. And now that the end is near, I dunno how. Plus I still haven't figured out motivation for certain amnesia chick actions. And I don't want to write her character anymore, so I haven't. Originally, she told half and the main guy character told the other half. At this point, she's told about...ten percent, and he's told the rest. Which makes me wonder if her part is even worth bothering with or if it'll just confuse the final product, if there ever is one.

You had an inspection eh? That would make me feel a little like a kid again... haven't had my room inspected since high school. My landlord hasn't even been here once since I moved in 6 years ago. :~)
To: RosieCotton
Been meaning to ask you.... would you like to come up for Thanksgiving at the beach house, or have you gotten an invite from that brother of yours?... time flies and it's next week!

My characterization is off. Waaaay off. It'll take a fair bit of editing before I'd be brave enough to let anyone read it.

Well...I kind of got an invite.
...Sister-in-law said "We're going to my sister's for Thanksgiving. Guess you could come if you wanted."
I suppose I should probably take them up on it.

It's awfully hard to stay consistent. For me, anyhow.
And the whole story is now over 112k. :-\ Most of which is useless frap.
