Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
|
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I missed the premier last year...didn't get sucked into the 24 cult until a few weeks later. ;-) Had to watch the first five episodes together so I could catch up.
Which, actually, is far less painful than the usual route.

Hi Hobbit Hole!!!
It's beautiful outside. The jedis are finished with school. I'm prepping a backyard picnic then after that I'm heading for the shop.
Woohooo! I'm starting my weekend!

Still have five hours to go here...
But Fridays are pretty good days, typically.

Home from my last day at that old place! I have all next week off, then I start a new job. So I will try to write about 20k M-W next week and get caught up on NaNo.

It's so liberating walking out the door for the last time.
We're having company this weekend. Talon's buddy Pchan is visiting. We've got the first anime con meeting tomorrow so he's staying over. We're gonna have some geeky fun.
And I've got all next week to prepare for my new job. I should get a haircut.

I took the day off. :)
Got some cleaning done whilst waiting for the man to come and give the furnace a checkup. Then I spent the whole afternoon raking leaves....good weather for it.

I'm getting some cleaning done here! It's looking a lot better already.

Tomorrow's task...clean up the garage.
To: Overtaxed
We are hoping to get more of the basement work done next week. Yesterday we put a light on the side of the garage so it won't be so dark when we take the puppies out at night.
Tomorrow is for fun and games, though. Monday I have a dentist appointment. I also want to wash half the floors in the house and write 6k words.

There're still some leaves I need to get up, clean up the garage so I can get the car in, and hopefully clean out the fridge.
Only then can I play with my fan/heatsink.
To: Overtaxed
I grocery shopped today. Bought lots of booze. And some cinnamon rolls. And stuff for the pecan pie we're taking to Chicago for Thanksgiving.
There, that's a once-over on both bathrooms. Talon will have to get the toilet out of the bathtub and rassle the spare mattress when he gets home.

The toilet we replaced two weeks ago has been sitting in the associated bathtub ever since. We don't use the upstairs tub because it doesn't have a shower. So there's been no hurry. But I ain't having it around with company coming.
