My - he sure has grown up fast. Good lookin' deer, for bein' dead and all :~)
thanks Sam... you and the Missus have been in our prayers...
I need tuh check those guys out...
Just checked the radar, where the heck did THAT come from. In othernews, the weather weenies now say we may get some precipitation.
nite folks... I be 'zausted...
There's that noise again...
Can you include something like the write-in in your story? Make it an ongoing thing.
Nah...doesn't fit. But at least I met a few people...guess that's good.
My Daddy was in his late 50's before he shot his first deer with a carbine. He'd killed a few before, but with a bow and arrow, or a muzzleloader. My brothers all got him the gun one Christmas, and he went out hunting shortly afterwards. My second oldest brother was with him that morning, and he said Daddy was about dancing, he was so excited. He was mighty proud of himself.
Way to go! Wish I could help consume the bounty...
Maybe include some of the new folks in your story, in a peripheral way. The words add up!
Eh...I'm at least a day or so ahead of schedule. So I don't need the word count. I'm just frustrated because what I *like* in a write-in is just to sit and write and maybe bounce ideas off of other writers. Not play games.
That would annoy me as well. I've always HATED forced games like that. I never planned games for our kids at their birthday parties for the same reason. Some kid always gets in a snit cause they didn't win, or whatever. Not worth the hassle.
I appreciate the prayers, g'nad. I'm hoping for the best.
I would have been kind of OK with the first game - the continue the story one. It was awkward, especially as I don't like team projects, antisocial being that I is...but it was OK as a warm up exercise, I guess.
But to continue making us write by theme, five or six minutes at a time - that was just ridiculous, and I didn't play along.

Aw...I feel loved - I haven't been making it to the Byzantine parish and I just had someone call to see how I was. *snif* I guess I should stop skipping out. ;-) It's a longer drive than the other parish and I guess I've just been lazy.
And the funny thing is at the beginning of the summer, (pg 116), I almost quit altogether.
I've always wanted to be a writer but lacked the nerve to try. So, I think this time, I may try to see if it or I am good enough to get published.
I am taking the advice of the main character of the book - Stonewall Jackson, who said "never take counsel of your fears."
Standard word count is 250 words per page. That's totally variable based on your writing style. I used to write in 12 point Times New Roman, single spaced, and it came out to approx. 500 words per page. I do 11 point TNR, line and a half spacing, these days, and the word count varies...
we do too..
thegirl's piano playin' has really improved, as is her fiddlin'... she's takin' lessons from a 17 y/o local homeschooled boy who won the MO state fiddlin' competition... that has made a HUGH difference...
Of course, this totally unscientific. But, I just like to know. It boosts my confidence.
