Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

But the most important feature is the strobe setting. In that mode, pressing the button gives you a seven-flash-a-second strobe light. When used on someone whose eyes are already adapted to the dark, this is quite disorienting and confusing, and can buy you several seconds of valuable time.

Oh, dang! I thought it would have one of those mega candlepower settings like Ding and Clark used in Clancy's "Debt of Honor". ;o)

Really nice lights, I'm trying out a small cabela's brand pocket flashlight, seem's well made and certainly is bright. But my old C celled 'cop light' still is with me in the truck, it has a comforting heft.

No...just drugged him and ran off again, after informing him that she wasn't *really* the sweet gal she'd been pretending to be, and so she had to go.

Wait... wasn't that what happened with Mal's 'wife' on Firefly too, basically?

Sadly, I have just added ten words to my word count by changing "offworld" to "off world" wherever I used it.

Er, yup. The writers ought to be sacked.

I'm tempted to write out all the lyrics to "I'm a Little Teapot" instead of just the title. *sigh*

Look at me, I'm almost two days behind. I have to work hard Saturday and catch up.

Darn it, being married is more distracting than I'd figured.

Heh...whatever it takes!

I have to skip ahead two years in today's writing. Hard to sum up. And then I'm writing into the dark agin, 'cause I'm not quite sure *exactly* why future-amnesia chick decided to allow the bad guys to kill off her husband.

Heh...he has rotten luck with women, I guess. Poor guy. Maybe I could console him a bit...

Ooh...I guess so!

Hopefully I can stay awake for the whole movie. Not functioning on all cylinders today for some reason.

Maybe because the cats had some kind of speechifying going on last night.

Mal played Kate's husband.

You know, the first time I saw Mal, he was a super-powered ex-preacher who had become the acolyte of an evil god.

...

Now that I think of it, is being Kate's husband a step up or a step down from that?

"Buffy the Vampire Slayer", Season 7 (the last season). His character was thoroughly nasty.

Well, I did some scans and all the usual maintenance stuff. And I upgrated to the new Explorer (if I'm an idiot for doing so, don't tell me).

It seems to be working okay now.
